The Plague Tale: Requiem
A Plague Tale: Requiem is the sequel to the third-person action-adventure game A Plague Tale: Innocence. Amicia and her brother Hugo will embark on a new journey. Heroes will once again face a deadly plague, swarms of rats and hostile soldiers. In the sequel, the girl's skills have grown up, so it will be easier for her to deal with opponents.

Arrival in the city

Hugo, Amicia, Luca and Beatrice are now on the threshold of the red city, providing us with protection thanks to the supervision of the Count of Provence. This city is also home to the revered Magister Wodin, a key figure in uncovering the mystery of Hugo's curse.

Walk to the house

From the city gates, walk along the street, feel free to communicate with various citizens. Eventually you will reach a lady selling flowers who will talk to Hugo.

After Hugo finishes talking to her, take the path on the right until you can talk to the man to start the pot throwing competition. Completing this mini-game will earn you a collectible souvenir #1/21 Best player.

Now we can resume our walk to the house up the hill. When you come to a small theatrical performance, Hugo will want to watch, and Amicia puts him on her shoulders. After that, continue walking through the lanes.

You will eventually meet up with Luca again and be able to enter the house. At the house, Hugo took a nap, but had another nightmare that seemingly woke up Macula again. Amicia, along with Luka, must track down Master Vodin, who will help shed light on Hugo's curse.


To the arena

Find Woden

Continue down the city hill, following Luca until he interrogates the guard about Woden's whereabouts. He directs us to the florist in the market.

Find a florist

Continue along the path leading to the market and talk to the florist you meet earlier during your first visit to the market.

Find a florist's husband

Now we'll have to track down her husband, who we're told knows about the whereabouts of Magister Woden. The husband is dressed in a brown tunic and can be found at one of the downhill exits from the market, raking leaves on the ground.

Get to the Arena

Climb down until you reach the gate to the arena, but you will be blocked by guards. As Luke suggests, we need to find a way around this.

Find your way inside the arena

Keep going past the stables and up the stairs to find a door you can hack into.

Entering the arena, Amicia and Luca learn that the curse is spreading throughout the city due to the fact that Hugo is nearby. It's time to resume the search for the Magister.

Find Woden

Continue until you reach a new door.

Confrontation in the stands


Follow the symbols of the order

Open the door, take the cart on the right and push it towards the ledge at the end of the lot.

After parking the cart, you can climb on top of it and pull yourself up the ledge. Keep moving forward until you can crawl under some barrels. A guard with a helmet will appear, but since Amicia's sling is ineffective against enemies with helmets, we can only sneak past him.

So, stay crouched, enter the door and drop down to hide on a patch of grass.

Grab the pot near the wooden fence and throw it at the toolbox to lure the guard and continue on.

Once you get past it, enter the first hole on the left and enter the door on the right.

After making sure there are no guards in sight, cross to the other side until you see a ladder on the right. However, there is a guard here who needs a distraction, so lure him in by manually throwing a rock into the toolbox next to him (or throw a pot). Now continue up the stairs and open the door.

You will reach an area with a lot of dead bodies. Here, use your sling to throw a rock at the ring holding the crate of dead bodies. When dropped down, the crate will land on a set of wheels, making it possible to move it around.

Push the cart near the hole in the wall that Luke pointed out when entering the area.

Keep going until you can grab and knife open a new door.

Now we are in the arena. Climb down and hide right behind the wall as new enemies appear. You can either sneak past everyone in stealth, or kill unarmored enemies and stun others to escape. If you want to do this in complete stealth, the path on the left is the easiest and you can throw a pot to distract the last enemy. Exit upstairs, behind the archer you must go through the door where the armored enemy is located. If you want to play aggressively, an easy way to end any encounter is to kill unarmored enemies with a stone sling, then lure the armored ones away from the exit, stun them with melee attacks, and quickly run to the exit. You can also stun armored enemies with melee attacks and then hide so they lose sight of you. Escape is not possible when you are being chased by an enemy next to you, because the enemy will pull you back when you try to use the door. But if the enemies are far enough away, even in combat, you have enough time to use the door. Luckily, your health regenerates automatically after a while if you get hit (it takes longer to recover on higher difficulties).

When you leave through the door, you will be safe. Before continuing, the game wants you to open the skills menu, do so before following Luca.

Keep moving until you see a ladder on the right.

Then go right again until you see a dying woman. Interact with her to get memento #2/21: Be at peace. Now trace your steps and this time go up the stairs to the left and open the door at the end.


Get to the South Tower

Now we need to get to the south tower inside the Order complex. Start by descending through the scaffolding and start a new cut-scene that reveals the instability of the wooden structures.

Luca and Amicia will fall into a pit with corpses and rats.

As soon as you see a massive wave of rats approaching you, get ready to run after it.

Exit the underground areas of the Arena

When Luka closes the door behind him, grab the torch from the wall to your right and move with it, creating a path among the rats. (Note: there may be a bug that causes the torch to not have an interaction icon, if this happens you can play the sub-chapter via Chapter Select to fix this). You will eventually reach a brazier that you can light up.

Keep following the path until you see a hole in the wall that you and Luca can climb up. Place the torch in the holder and climb up the wall.

In the new area, grab a stick, light it up and head over to the nearby brazier to light it up. Remember sticks only last a few seconds so you have to be a lot faster moving from one fire source to another or you'll be dead.

Whenever possible, try to determine where the next possible source of fire is and walk towards it in a straight line like Amicia mentioned.

From the second brazier, look up and to the right to find a third brazier that can be thrown down with your sling.

Now, as usual, take a stick, light it up, but this time throw the flaming stick into the brazier itself to set it on fire. Next, go up the stairs.

When you and Luka walk along the wooden beam, the beam will collapse.

Take a stick and light it to get through the rats and light a new brazier.

Light a new stick and throw it on the brazier on the other side of the room to light the way for Luca.

Now take a new stick, but don't light it, then throw it to Lucas ( :l2: + :r2: / :lt: + :rt: ). If the stick is lit, it will go out before Luka can use it, so you must throw the one that is not lit. Luka himself will light it and return to us.

Once Luca is back with us, go up the stairs and keep going to the next door and linear path until you find a room with an elevator and a brazier in the middle.

Lowering the center platform

Reach the handle at the top and activate it to lower the platform.

However, we don't have anything to light it up, so we have to find the right materials to activate the brazier. Fortunately, interaction with the handle opened up two niches with the materials we needed.

Explore Alcoves

Facing the handle and elevator, we first explore the left niche.

Get sulfur

Climb up the ladder and approach the handle.

Instruct Luke ( :l1: + :triangle: / :lb: + :y: ) to activate it for you so you can get through.

Take the cart and push it on the elevator, and then order Luca to release the handle again.

Push the cart and place it next to the white-painted beams to be able to climb to the top and grab 4x sulfur from the chest.

Get alcohol

Enter the opposite niche and shimmy along the wall.

Then throw a rock on the ring that holds the two white pieces of meat to lure the rats in, allowing you to drop down and up the stairs to where the chest is.

Regrouping with Luka

With both materials at our disposal and ready to be used in the brazier, we can now regroup with Luka.

Create some Ignifer

To create Ignifer, :r1: / :rb: open the selection menu, press:Correctly:

Ignite the central brazier

We can now light the central brazier and scare off all the rats below, but that's not enough, as we still need to lower the platform a bit to gain access to it.

Lowering the center platform

Facing the handle at the top, let's enter the left hole. Use Ignifer to light the brazier and torch on the right.

Next, you need to combine the Ignifer effect with the pot. Open the selection menu to hover over the pot and :Correctly:

Then throw a rock at the meat to lure the rats to it, allowing you to safely climb the ladder and interact with the handle.

The crank is too heavy, so we need to interact with the second one to be able to lower the elevator. While Luka is the person of the one we just found, we need to find and manage the second one. Climb down and go to another hole. As usual, light the brazier.

Then look up and to the right to find a second brazier that you can knock down and then light it up.

Then drop the ignited pot halfway to where you are and the ladder to safely reach and climb it. And finally, operate the handle to lower the entire platform.

Exit the underground areas of the Arena

After using the crank, quickly run to the elevator and stay on it. Wait for the elevator to take you up to the exit.

Get to the South Tower

Continue along the linear path until you reach a small and abandoned garden. Here you can pick up Herbarium Hugo #1/12 Arrowhead.

Then, continue down the path, making sure you open two chests for materials.

One of them is on the right after leaving the garden, the second after climbing the stairs.

After getting the chests, you can squeeze through the gap at the end of the area. You will reach a wide open area with several patches of grass. Here is a larger encounter with the enemy. During the grass patch section, you can easily sneak past everyone. Then, continue towards the ruins of the arena until the rats are rushing off the ground.

Here, facing the ruins, head left to find a stack of sticks.

From here, you can see two drenched lanterns through swarms of rats, which can be ignited with the Ignifer.

Then take a stick from a nearby cache and light it to go through the first lantern.

Then grab a new stick and continue on to the next lantern, making sure to make a detour up the ledge when you see the brazier. Here you can open two chests for materials.

After you've opened two chests, head back down the nearby stairs where you can grab a stick to light it up using the nearby brazier or torch.

Climb up the stairs until you see a new brazier, which you must light to get down to the new area.

Next, ignite the two barbecues found to the left and right of the door. These two braziers will be a little useful.

Now go up the stairs and around the ramparts to then go back down to where there is a new lantern to light.

With the lantern on, go down the stairs and take the stick, but don't light it. This stick is needed to get over the rats and get to the two braziers we lit earlier.

So go back and cross to open the door.

Find Woden

Go through the nave and towards the lodge to launch the next objective.

Put the characters in the correct order

To the left and right of the Order symbols in the middle are four bells that you can interact with. You need to throw a stone on either side of each bell to reveal the correct symbol and complete the sequence. Each time you turn the bell to the right symbol, Lucas will give you confirmation that this is the case. The order, from left to right, is the symbol that looks like "5" > crossed "0" > "0" with a line pointing down > "o" with two kites.

Find Woden

You can now resume your search for Vaudin by going up the stairs. Wodin is in his office, and although somewhat reluctant, he agrees to see Hugo.

This concludes chapter 2 "The Beginners" in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Now chapter 3 "The Burden of Blood" begins.
