Soap's gear

Soap will start the mission with a battle rifle FTac Recon with a silencer, which is equipped with a reflex sight and forearm. For his secondary weapon, he will use a submachine gun VEL46, which also comes with its own reflex sight.

Even though the characters only appear for a short time, players will still be able to control the Ghost during this mission. Acting as an overseer of the operation, Ghost wields a sniper rifle. Diet XMR, equipped with optics with variable zoom and bipod.

Walkthrough

Hook on the mount and go down the first few floors. you can change Rappel Orientation, pressing C. Gain insight into the terrorists and kill them before they harm any of the hostages. There will be 3 floors for cleaning, in each of which there will be 2, 4 and 5 terrorists respectively. Achievement Must Be Wind can be obtained by killing all terrorists before they can fire their weapons.

After pulling out the hostages, make your way to the nearest window of the server room, where Price will be waiting.

Hassan moved the floors. Reconnect and go down the building until you reach a floor with a large reception area.

Wait for the RPG to blow up the window before following Price into the room.

Clear waves of enemies in this area. The second wave is the most dangerous, as it will consist of several heavily armored guards.

Wait for Price to open the entrance door. After opening, go down and connect with Gus's squad. Clear the heavy weights guarding Gassan's room. Use any grenades, you should make a quick job out of them.

Follow Price and use Snake Cam. Hassan leaves. Make your way to the open elevator shaft nearby.

Run and mine materials before finding a safe place. Make sure you have looted at least Binding x2, Chemicals x1, Wax x1 and Metal x1. When you have the necessary tools, go to room with white doors in front of the reception (next to the elevators). Make sure you give the heavyweights a run so they don't see you slip into the room.

Once inside, listen to Laswell's instructions. Press or select the buttons and hints given by Laswell to detonate the rocket safely

Instructions:
・Enable diagnostic mode by simultaneously pressing CLR (F) and FASHION (VS).
・When Laswell asks for data, select %ESP.
・Then press LEFT (A) and CLR (F) to initiate override.
・Finally, click LNK (R) when the green circle is on 4 position on reading.

Now that the rocket is flooded, you will now need to deal with 2 armored heavyweights on your floor. Start by using the materials collected earlier to create Pry Tool x1 и Smoke Bombs x2.

Once you've finished crafting, exit the room and head towards Red Toolbox in the opposite side of the level (near the windows). open it to get box cutter.

Box Cutter will be equipped, use smoke bombs to stun the heavy ones before knocking them down. Repeat until both are dead to trigger a cutscene with Gassan.

Take control of Ghost. Once you zoom in on the sniper rifle, insert a bullet into Gassan's head to complete the mission. Completing this mission will earn you the achievement Time For Pints. If you've been playing the campaign on Veteran difficulty all this time, you'll also get the achievement Cutting Heads Off Snakes with him.

Watch the final cutscene and credits. Congratulations! You have completed the MW2 campaign.

How to complete the Countdown mission on Realism difficulty

Turn off VEL 46 for Bryson 890

On lower difficulties VEL48 will usually be more than enough to pass this level. However, since it is a fully automatic submachine gun, the recoil and damage leave a lot to be desired when playing Veteran or Realism.

To make it easier to clear the first few server rooms, replace VEL48 with a shotgun Bryson 890, found in the first zone of the server room where you and Price meet in the mission Countdown.

Using a Flash Drive to Clean Up Server Rooms

Realistic and Veteran enemies will almost always shoot at you, even if you're both blindly peeping into rooms. Give yourself an edge when breaking into rooms by inserting stun grenade in front of entrance. This is especially useful against armored enemies that appear the further you are in the level.

Shoot through the doors to clear the waiting enemies

Apart from leading with flashes, one simple way to prevent sudden death when entering new rooms is to pre-light any doors before entering. Use the bullet penetration provided FTac Recon, and drop a few rounds at head level before breaking through and clearing out.

Get the Riot Shield for extra protection

One of the enemies in 3rd room server zone will be equipped RiotShield. This is one of the best weapons to get and equip as it allows you to basically tank bullets without any repercussions.

Once equipped, let Price deal with enemies and use Riot Shield in melee when some of them get close. The hand-to-hand combat itself is quite strong, sometimes it only takes 2-3 hits to take out heavily armored enemies.

Clear the enemies before following Price

On the floor with the large reception area, don't follow Price as he enters. Instead, go down a little more until you're at a headshot angle with the lower windows before taking out the first few enemies. If you follow Price immediately, you will most likely be shot and thrown back to the previous checkpoint.

Mission Achievements Countdown

I guess it's the wind

To get an achievement Must Be Wind, you will need to rescue all the hostages without the enemies firing their weapons. To make this easier, lower the recruiting difficulty, as Veteran/AI Realism will almost instantly fire once you fire.

For the last floor with 5 terrorists, you can line up the enemies so that you can destroy them, while you would only need to switch your target once. If you find yourself being shot at, just use "Return to last checkpoint" option, to quickly complete this achievement.

Now you can go to the bar

Time For Pints will be easy to get as it only requires you to complete the campaign on any difficulty. You will receive this automatically after you kill Hassan with Ghost's sniper rifle.

The Cutting Heads Off Snakes achievement is much harder to get, as it requires you to complete the entire campaign on Veteran or Realistic difficulty. If your first playthrough was completed entirely on Veteran difficulty, you should automatically get it after completing the Verran Countdown mission.
