Starting weapon charge

This mission forces you to start armed to the teeth. Gus will pack Diet XMR with a silencer, equipped with a thermal imaging sniper scope, as well as M4 with muffler with thermal hybrid optics.

In addition, this mission allows you to equip several lethal and tactical items, including a heartbeat sensor, flares, smoke, C4, tear gas grenades, and a Snake Cam (for peeking under doors).

Note: The conversation options during the mission will not affect the results or objectives of the mission. For example, telling Price to go downstairs and do the dirty work himself would only be taken as a joke.

Watch for cartel guards across the field using your sniper's thermal scope. After getting the go-ahead from Price, follow him until he spots 2 shiny snipers in the bushes. Shoot any of them to continue.

Follow Price through a small drainage tunnel, while remaining low.

Let the enemies get past you. Make sure that you make quiet movementsif you need to reposition otherwise the enemies will be alerted.

Kill 2 cartel guards outside the building. Shoot one and Price will take care of the other. Equip the heart rate sensor from your backpack. Scan the area for a heartbeat before following Price again.

NOT NECESSARY: Answer and talk to Laswell. None of the dialogue options will change the outcome of the mission. However, to get as much dialogue as possible, ask Laswell about her love

Once you reach the ridge overlooking the facility, set up and get ready to take out the enemies with your sniper. Study and listen to Price's instructions on course correction to achieve your goals.

Once the enemies patrolling the perimeter have been dismantled, start descending towards the facility.

The Cartel guards will appear. You can kill them or let them pass you, but the easiest way is to hide and wait. Once the enemy leaves, approach the object. You will be instructed to clear both supply depot, and warehouse hatchery.

First, empty the consumable storage area. Use your heart rate sensorto get the number of enemies.

Once you're done fighting the enemies, head inside and open the large container. Check inside the ballistic missile. When you show up with nothing, listen to Price's messages. He will tell you over the radio that 5 armored guards are heading towards your position.

Move to the roof of the supply depot and use your sniper to take them out with headshots. Having cleared the path, go to the hatchery warehouse. Clear it as before and go inside to look for clues.

Check out the map showing the underground tunnels under the lighthouse. After transmitting the information to Laswell on the radio, return to the street to meet with Price. Follow Price around the outer perimeter of the lighthouse. This is another section of sniping, so get ready to move and also listen to Price's messages regarding target adjustment.

Clear out the enemies surrounding the lighthouse. If you succeeded don't warn anyone during this segment and the sniping segment in the warehouses, you will get the achievement "No one was there».

Once the enemies are cleared, start approaching the lighthouse. As before, 2 techies (this time filled with heavily armored guards) will stop and search the area.

Stay inconspicuous and wait for them to leave, or deal with them quickly to continue. However, please note that there is a bug that causes some soldiers to refuse to leave during the stealth option. Pass or kill the enemy guards, Price will challenge you to clear garage и residential building.

Clean out the garage first. Inside, you will find that the Iranians are allied with the Russians after inspecting a makeshift flag.

Then go to the Housing Section and clear it. Once the building is secured, pay attention to washing machineto open the tunnel entrance.

Use the rope to descend into the tunnels under the lighthouse.

Follow Price through the tunnels, killing all the guards, until you reach the makeshift docks below the lighthouse.

Once the docks are secure, salute Laswell over the communications. After the exchange of information, the position will be attacked by cartel patrol boats.

Listen to Price and try to help Laswell by shooting the boarders. Once Laswell is captured, approach Price and leave the tunnels. This completes the Reconnaissance in Combat mission.

How to complete the Reconnaissance in Combat mission on Realistic difficulty

Listen carefully to Captain Price's instructions.

Captain Price will always instruct you on how to do things, kill or move to an area. Be sure to follow all the instructions he has throughout the mission to avoid getting killed by enemies.

Look at other enemies if you missed the instruction while sniping

Sometimes Captain Price will overlook things and won't instruct you on how to aim at enemies. You can try and look at other enemies to reset and get instructions.

Use tear gas on the vents

The best way to clear a building of enemies is throw tear gas into one of the vents. There is always a path to a building, so look around if you can't find it.

Use only 1 tear gas per building

By default you will only have 4 tear gas on the back, which is equal to the number of buildings you have to clear and secure. Use only one for each building, otherwise you will run out of tear gas and it will be difficult to hack and kill all the enemies in the building.

Let Captain Price do most of the work.

You can play it safe and let Captain Price do most of the work for you, except when you're shooting at the warehouse and the lighthouse. Attract and smoke enemies from the building to give Captain Price an open shot at them. However, this strategy takes time to complete the entire mission, so it is not recommended for speedrunners.
