High On Life Walkthrough & Tips

Below you can find our High On Life guides, full of information you need to know about the game, as well as collectible and boss guides to help you take down the alien drug cartel:

General information about High On Life

Here you can find everything you need to know to start the game and get an overview of its basic structure:

High On Life on Game Pass?

High On Life will be available on Game Pass when it launches on December 13, 2022. The game will also be available on console, PC and cloud platforms.

The game is a single-player focused adventure, so you should be able to play through it on Game Pass and come back for more playthrough if you want more. The high lifespan will keep you busy for some time, so you should have more than enough time to play the game before it disappears.

Time to complete High On Life

High on Life will take approximately 10-12 hours to beat, according to Squanch Games in an interview with PureXbox. However, completers can expect to spend 20-25 hours with the game.

High On Life gameplay tips, guides and collectibles

Here are our gameplay guides that will walk you through where to find space items, collectibles, and provide tips on how to defeat the cartel frontmen you encounter.

List of High On Life missions and awards

  • Get help (5-10 minutes)
  • Bounty: 9-Torg (20-30 minutes)
  • Buy Dodge Unit (5 minutes)
  • Bounty: Krubis (85-115 minutes)
  • Lizzy is back (n/a)
  • Bounty: Douglas (60-80 minutes)
  • Meet Clugg (10-15 minutes)
  • Bounty: Doctor Giblets
  • Bounty: Skrendel Brothers

As you can see we are still working on the game, so when we finish our space bounty hunt we will add to this list. However, as you can see, each Bounty varies somewhat in length, and it depends on how much research you do. This adds up to a fairly significant length of High On Life and time to win.

Weapons

Kenny

Kenny is your first pistol in High On Life and serves as a regular pistol. He is voiced by Justin Roiland himself and his alternate fire Glob Shot is a large explosive shot that sends enemies flying through the air.

Нож

The knife is your main melee weapon in the game and will be a crutch during intense combat encounters. He is VERY talkative and will often get excited about the kill he is capable of at your hands. This is the only weapon in the game that doesn't have any ammo system, as it can only be used at close range.

Gus

Gus works similarly to a shotgun, firing multiple projectiles with his antennae. He is voiced by JB Smooth.

sweezy

Sweezy is similar to Halo's Eagler, firing projectiles that build up until they explode. He is voiced by Betsy Sodaro.

Creation

Creature is a sort of crowd control weapon that allows you to throw out small creatures that jump on enemies and chew them to pieces. He is voiced by Tim Robinson.

This covers the full list of High On Life weapons and weapons.

High On Life how to open Luglox chests

In order to open the Luglox chests in High On Life, you need to get the Knifey in the first bounty hunt mission in the gamebehind 9-Torg. It will most likely be something you do early on, within the first hour of the game, and it's not to be missed. So, once you have the Knifey, you can open all the chests.

So this should get you started on what you can do with the chests you see in the game. As mentioned, this is a pretty early goal so you don't have to go through too many chests before you can open them.

High On Life (Peso) money and how to get it

The easiest way to grab large sums of money and pesos is to kill bosses in the game and give rewards for killing them. This will give you large chunks of pesos that can be spent on upgrades in the shop or on your weapons in the shops.

In addition, Luglox chests can be found in many worlds in the game, and they can contain wads of pesos that you can spend along with challenges that grant you small rewards.

That said, that's all, so you don't have to worry about having to raise pesos from multiple places in space.

High On Life what to do with warp crystals

Warp Crystals can be taken to Blorto in Blim after you met Klugg and defeated Krubis in High On Life and defeated Douglas in High On Life. They can be spent on Warp Drives, which can be used to call to fast connection points on planets that allow you to travel between regions of the earth more easily.

These Warp Crystals are fairly common and can be found throughout the game as you explore and complete High On Life missions and rewards. While Warp Drives are not needed for much story progression, they are key to being able to explore, open High On Life Luglox chests across planets, and earn money (Pesos) in High On Life.

So it's definitely worth grabbing some so you can visit new areas and return to previous parts of the planet.

All High On Life bosses

High On Life has a variety of bosses throughout the game that you will kill while bounty hunting... These include:

  • 9-Torg (Nova Sanctus)
  • Krubis (Zephyr Paradise)
  • Douglas (Port Terren)
  • Dr. Giblets
  • Pretzel Bros/Bro-Tron
  • Nipulon

As you can see, we are still working on the game and finishing the bounty hunt as we just got access to the game a day or so before release. However, you can find deep dives into the bosses below, as well as guides on how to defeat them.

9-Torg

A boss tutorial, if you will, 9-Torg is a pretty basic fight with one or two attacks she can use. With an energy blast and simple bullets that fire around, she's not really lethal until she gets you to stay in the air. But her latest attack is a powerful laser that can easily catch you if you're not playing at the top of your game.

Krubis

Krubis can be found in Zephyr Paradise and is hidden away until you can get his coordinates and warp him with the Warp Disk. Krubis uses a normal explosion and a saw that can bounce off walls and floors. In addition, he roams underground, drilling and barreling through walls and floors with his large effect laser attack that is hard to dodge.

Where is Jin in High On Life

At the very beginning, in High On Life, Jin can be found in Blim, right outside the door of your house and on the left on the bench. He is a purple alien with multiple eyes.

You can see a picture of him below, homeless on this bench:

High On Life where is Gene: Gene can be seen on the bench

Once you find it, you can continue your way through the game by grabbing an additional High On Life weapon and earning High On Life money (Pesos) to upgrade these weapons.
