Horizon Zero Dawn 2: Forbidden West Announced for PS5
Guerrilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn has been one of the most popular PS4 games ever, and its sequel, Horizon Zero Dawn 2: Forbidden West, has been officially announced for PS5.
Robotic dinosaurs, beautiful landscapes, and the innovative gameplay of Horizon Zero Dawn are all a reimagined return for the next generation of console gaming. During PS5 launch events Everyone's favorite red-haired heroine, Aloy, has been reintroduced to the gaming community with a bow in hand, targeting a giant mechanical mammoth.
So far, all we know is that Aloy is back, the robots are back, and the West is not just wild, it's forbidden - although one might assume that precautions won't be enough to stop the insolent hunter.
The trailer was short, but it conveyed the main message: the protagonist of the original game must retain his role in its sequel, and the mysteries of its post-apocalyptic world will continue to be solved.
This trailer, while shocking to many, was previously teased by the game's composer Joris de Man, who tweeted about their excitement and, unsurprisingly, created wild anticipation among fans of the game.
It looks like the wait has been rewarded, as open-world RPG fans can expect Forbidden West to build on the mechanics that made the original game a huge hit with critics and players alike. If there's any indication in the trailer, the game's signature aesthetic will now be enhanced with features built into the PS5.
The lush world, occupied by living and animatronic creatures, as well as other people similar to Aloy, in the game's trailer showcases the depths of the Forbidden West, as well as a foreshadowing of potential war between conflicting, post-apocalyptic tribal communities.
While Aloy worked and fought other people in the first game, the sequel seems to take the title to a whole new level. At the end of the trailer, it is suggested that the rival community is enlisting some of the game's creepy prehistoric robots to wage war. Fans will be happy to learn more about this kind of inter-communal battles, as their scale represents a new step in the history of the game and, perhaps, in its combat.
