Squid Game Star Jung Ho Young. All that is Known about the "Red Fox".

South Korean model Jung Ho Young instantly became the most popular actress in Korea after her debut in the top Netflix series "The Squid Game".

The Squid Game topped Netflix's top streaming service in 90 countries. One of the main roles was played by Jung Ho Young. After the series aired, she became the most followed South Korean actress on Instagram. In a few days, the number of subscribers in her account increased by 13 million. Everything that is known about the girl is in our material.

Beauty from Seoul

South Korean actress Jung Ho Young was born in a suburb of Seoul in 1994 and became interested in fashion at school age. She volunteered at Korean Fashion Weeks, helping organize shows and working with models. After graduating from high school, Jeon entered Dongduk, a private university with a century of history, majoring in modeling. Parents offered Ho Young to become an entrepreneur, but after graduating from university, the Korean woman insisted on her own and promised her parents that she would succeed as a fashion model. The businessman father, the owner of a restaurant in Korea, allowed his beloved daughter to do what he loves and not worry about money.

Young Jung was hard not to believe: the girl has a model height, 176 centimeters, and an unusually beautiful cut of the eyes, which was admired not only by her parents, but also by casual acquaintances. In addition, Jeon was known for her brash and assertive personality. Perhaps that is why the girl achieved recognition and became the most popular actress in Korea at the age of 27.

"Red Fox on the Catwalk"

At the beginning of her career, Ho Young realized that the fashion catwalks were tired of the typical Korean type of women and dyed her hair light blond. The external data of the model amazed the scouts who met Chon at the shows. So 16-year-old Ho Young was invited to become a fashion model at Seoul Fashion Week. It was a great stroke of luck for a newcomer to the business without his own agent. At Fashion Week, the editors of the glossy magazines saw a lot of potential in Ho Young. She ended up on the cover of Vogue Girl Korea, Elle Korea, and Nylon.

In the 2010s, Jeon was cast on Korea's Next Top Model. Ho Yong took second place in the project, but was not very upset. She was already at the stage of filming was offered a job by several modeling agencies in the world. In 2016, the girl made her debut on the European catwalk in the Louis Vuitton show. Then she dyed her hair bright red and lightened her eyebrows. Ho Young decided to move to New York. The non-standard appearance of the model was appreciated in the USA, and the next season, Ho Yong walked the catwalks of Prada, Fendi, Jacquemus, Versace and other fashion houses. For the color of her hair, the fashion model was nicknamed the "red fox of the modeling business."

«My height is 176 centimeters, which is the average for models. If I were taller, I would actively work in the high-end fashion industry. And if it were lower, it would be a commercial model from print magazines and TV shows. I realized that with my height I can do both. I am surprised that I became the model I dreamed of being.," Yong said in an interview.

In the 2010s, Jung Ho Young signed contracts with the world's leading modeling agencies and entered the top 50 famous models in the world.

"Squid Game" - Jung Ho Young's successful film debut

The girl managed to realize the acquired skills only in 2019, when Jung Ho Young received an invitation to the casting in the “Squid Game”. She auditioned among the last contenders for the role and thought that the director would not like it - they say that her gait is too model, and her height is too high for a pickpocket heroine. She was sent only three parts of the script, so the actress did not know how to impress the casting directors.

“I only received three parts of the script before the audition. They included scenes with Sae Baek's younger brother, a North Korean broker, and a conversation with Ki Hong from the penultimate episode. I didn't have much context. I had to use my imagination to fill in the blanks”, the actress later admitted.

Jung doubted herself even after she was informed that she had received the coveted role. The girl was afraid to let down a large film crew, so she kept asking the creators what her heroine should be like. But the director of the project, Hwang Dong-hyuk, convinced the girl that she expected sincerity and the complex nature of the model herself. The experience of working in front of the camera helped Chung to reincarnate as a refugee from North Korea. Later, the girl will say that there is a lot in common between her and her heroine - both left their homeland for the sake of a better life, both hardly open up to people. Pickpocket Sae Beck, performed by the aspiring actress, was so liked by the audience that thousands of videos appeared on the network, which were made by enthusiastic fans.

According to Jung Ho Young, working as a model made it easier for her to work with the camera, but she had to wean herself from modeling poses:

“At first I tried to get rid of the habits that I developed as a model, and it was a big challenge to re-learn how to walk and move more naturally.”

Thanks to the successful launch of "Squid Game", Jung Ho Young has significantly increased her audience on the social network Instagram. Before the project, 400 thousand people were subscribed to it, and in three weeks the number of subscribers increased to 19 million. A Korean woman's blog was named the fastest growing in the history of the social network! Jung Ho Young has been named the most popular actress in South Korea. From a catwalk model, the girl "grew" to the ambassador of the Louis Vuitton brand, in which she once began her career. In addition, Ho Young became the face of the Adidas brand.

These regalia do not prevent Jung Ho Young from running the page at his own discretion. On her blog, she posts funny pictures, admires fan art, and shares photos of her personal life. The actress is close friends with Jennie, a member of the world famous k-pop group BLACKPINK.

In the comments, Chung is constantly confessing his love. But the heart of the beauty from Seoul has long been occupied. For more than six years, she has been dating South Korean actor Lee Dong Hwi, who is nine years older than her. At home, he is known for the box office hits "Maid", "Extreme Job" and is considered one of the most popular actors in South Korea. Thanks to the "Squid Game" in 2021, Jeon significantly overtook the chosen one in popularity. But the girl says that while working on the series, their relationship only got stronger: Lee supported her all the time and shared his own experience in the film industry.

Speaking of plans for the future, Jung Ho Young is thinking about participating in the second season of the famous hit if she gets the chance.

"Life goes on. I just want to boldly move forward and explore the world”, Ho Young is sure.

The girl has already received several offers to shoot in full-length films, but she is not going to go to the cinema with her head - not all the fashion catwalks of the world have yet been conquered by the "red fox".
