The plot of the series, which describes the life of troubled teenagers during perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet Union, is closely related to Garayev’s research on teenage gangs in Kazan. The author collected memories of participants and evidence of events in order to convey to the viewer the atmosphere of that time.
The story of Misha "Jumble"
Misha, also known as Yeralash, has become one of the brightest characters in the series. A guy living in Kazan who has his whole life ahead of him. Like many other heroes, he ends up in a criminal group, but with a noble goal. Andrei, another central character, strives to return the money stolen from his mother, and Yeralash dreams of making his grandmother happy with a brand new iron.
The series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt" tells about the life of teenagers who find themselves in criminal communities. Garayev used real stories, such as the Tyap-Blyap group, to create prototypes for the central characters.
The fate of Misha, played by Yaroslav Mogilnikov, was short and tragic. He passes away soon after entering the criminal world. One day, at a disco, Misha mistakenly mistook boys from another area for his friends, opening the bus door for them. The ensuing brawl ended with his death, just a day after he fulfilled his dream of giving the iron to his grandmother. This is how the short but vivid story of Misha “Jumble” ended.
