Character history: Kashchei is the antagonist of the series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the asphalt." He is played by Nikita Kologrivy. In the role of an insidious authority figure, he leads the "Universam" gang in Kazan, becoming an opposing figure for the idealistic Vova, known as Adidas.
Character Creation:
The character of Kashchey was created under the influence of the book by journalist Robert Garayev “The Boy’s Word: Criminal Tatarstan of the 1970s–2010s.” This book tells about teenage gangs in Tatarstan in the 1970s and 1980s. Zhora Kryzhovnikov and screenwriter Andrei Zolotarev decided to use this material as the basis for the series. Characters and stories, although fictional, often have their roots in real events and prototypes.
Biography of Kashchei:
Kashchei was born in the second half of the 1960s in Kazan. From his youth he built his biography in the world of crime, which led him to prison. When Vova Adidas was preparing to be sent to Afghanistan, Kashchei served the remaining time. After leaving prison, he became the leader of the Universam gang, which Vladimir had previously founded. The group was engaged in criminal warfare and was looking for ways to get out of adrenaline.
The situation changes when paratrooper Vova returns to Kazan after demobilization in 1989. With the advent of free enterprise, cooperatives and racketeering, gang leaders begin to transfer their activities to the economic level. Kashchei, striving for more power, violates "boy code"and becomes the object of opposition from Vova Adidas, his half-brother Marat and a new friend Andrew.
The series, thus, takes viewers into the complex world of criminal showdowns, conflicts and the desire of teenagers for self-affirmation in a criminal society.
