Marvel has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, showing several characters from previous entries in the franchise, including Peter Parker, Doctor Strange and Doctor Octopus. The latter is played by Alfred Molina, whom we already saw in this image in 2's Spider-Man 2004.

It's important to remember that the release of this trailer is literally the beginning of the film's marketing, and as such it does exactly what it needs to. it explores the implications of Spider-Man's identity being revealed at the end of " Spider-Man: Far From Home" , explains the connections between the MCU and the Multiverse, and shows the interaction between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. Essentially, the trailer lays the groundwork for the movie — exactly what needs to be done in the first trailer. Marvel and Sony would have been wise not to show footage of Garfield and Maguire for a second phase of marketing, closer to the release date, when they'll have more impact - especially since everyone is waiting for them anyway.
