Russian Sci-Fi Thriller 'Sputnik' Left Hideo Kojima Delighted
The creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, renowned game designer Hideo Kojima, is an avid movie buff. Sometimes the developer shares his impressions on social networks, and this time he spoke about the Russian film, which is called the answer to Alien.
We are talking about the 2020 Sputnik film directed by Yegor Abramenko. Oksana Akinshina, Pyotr Fyodorov and Fyodor Bondarchuk starred in the film. The project gained popularity abroad when Sputnik was acquired by foreign streaming sites. In the US, they also acquired the rights to a remake of the picture.
"Sputnik" tells about an alien who first gets on a Soviet spacecraft, and then on Earth. Only one cosmonaut survives, but his condition raises questions among scientists that they cannot answer. To do this, a neurophysiologist Tatyana Klimova is brought to the base, who will study the alien life form.
Hideo noted that the cover of "Satellite" in Japan misleads people, as it is advertised as an action film.
Original and Japanese poster:
The game designer noted the game of Oksana Akinshina, as well as the harsh atmosphere of the USSR in the 1980s. Kojima added that the tape well shows the stagnation of the country of that time, and its attitude towards people.
Hideo has announced that he will next watch the new movie Future War, starring Chris Pratt.
