WandaVision release date

Disney has practically confirmed that WandaVision will be coming to their massive new streaming platform in mid-December. This shift is partly due to The fact that the release date of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been pushed back to “at least” 2021 for more filming.

The streaming platform released its October and November listings, but WandaVision was nowhere to be found. This, combined with Disney's confirmation that the new show will be released in 2020, almost confirms release date in December 2020 years .

The limited series is expected to air in the same style as other Disney Plus shows, meaning WandaVision episodes will premiere on the platform on a weekly basis.

Disney had previously confirmed that the series would run for six episodes.

Wanda Vision Trailer

Until late September 20, Marvels fans could only get a glimpse of WandaVision in a Super Bowl trailer that also confirmed The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as well as the brand new Disney Plus Loki series.

The full "official trailer" is finally out. It shows Wand and Vision leading an idyllic life in the suburbs, but something is off about it all. In fact, the hero duo "soon begin to suspect that all is not what it seems."

Watch the new trailer for WandaVision, which premiered during the Emmys, here:

The new teaser was also accompanied by a new poster released by Disney shortly after the series' official trailer. It showed black and white versions of Wanda and Vision smiling at the camera.

Casting News

There have been very few official casting appointments for the 2020 series. Elizabeth Olsen will apparently return as Wanda Maximoff, as will Paul Bettany as Vision.

Other returning Marvel characters include Monica Rambo (now played by Teyonah Parris), Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Randall Park (Jimmy Wu). Katherine Hahn also starred in the TV series WandaVision as an unspecified roommate.

also went heavy rumors, that Wanda's brother Pietro, known as Quicksilver in the comics, may also be returning. He was last played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron and was killed by Ultron at the Battle of Sokovia.

What will WandaVision talk about?

According to the official Disney Plus listing, WandaVision will start shortly after the Avengers: Endgame finale. It is "a blend of classic TV and the Marvel Cinematic Universe" and will follow Wanda's dizzying post-Infinity War journey.

The show has a few wacky elements. Vision was actually killed by Thanos during his search for the Infinity Stones in the MCU. The fact that he came back alive - a fact mentioned in the new Emmy trailer - is the mystery of the show.

“[We] have the opportunity to tell their story and talk about what else Wanda can do, more about what Vision does, and most importantly, reveal the Scarlet Witch name,” Kevin Fig said in the MCU.

"That's what we're playing with in this series, and it's downright fun, funny, somewhat scary, and will have implications for the entire future of the MCU."

How does this affect the MCU?

Marvel has already confirmed that WandaVision will have "consequences" for the entire Cinematic Universe moving into Phase 4. WandaVision is expected to play a prequel role to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Scarlet Witch has already been cast in Benedict Cumberbatch's sequel.

Feige confirmed that back at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, all Disney Plus shows, especially WandaVision, will have "a lot of overlap with the movies."

“This is the first extended narrative produced by Marvel Studios. It will be six episodes, eight episodes, 10 episodes where the actors from the films will play their characters,” he said.

“They will change, develop, grow in this series of events. These changes will then be reflected in their next films.”
