The head of Lionsgate TV spoke about the series "Continental" in the universe of "John Wick"
The series follows Winston, the head of the Continental Hotel, and his journey to the assassins' hotel.
About the series that the television department of the film studio Lionsgate is working on, its head Kevin Biggs spoke in an interview with Deadline.
The top manager said that "The Continental" - a series in the universe of "John Wick" - will tell about the youth of Winston, a character played in the films by Ian McShane. The action will thus unfold in the 1970s, and John Wick himself will not appear in the frame.
The plot will focus on the Continental Hotel and its development as a hideout for hired killers. The first season of the series, according to Biggs, will include three episodes, each of which will last about 90 minutes.
Kevin Biggs also confirmed that Lionsgate TV is working on an American Psycho series. The top manager did not specify the details of the project. In 2013, Lionsgate TV partnered with FX to announce a series that was supposed to be a continuation of American Psycho and tell about 50-year-old Patrick Bateman, who began to prepare his successor. However, there has been no news of the show since.
Biggs concluded by noting that Lionsgate TV is exploring the possibility of TV adaptations and other franchises like Saw. Deadline, citing its own sources, has confirmed that a horror movie series is indeed in the works, but at an early stage.
The series "Continental" based on "John Wick" was planned to launch at the end of 2021. Together with him, the franchise is going to release another television spin-off - "Ballerina".
