Viper Valorant: How to play, abilities, tips and tricks
Looking for a guide to Valorant Viper? Here's a summary of Viper's Toxic Agent abilities and how to best use them.
Viper has become something of a Valorant icon. The agent uses a range of gaseous abilities to trap and kill his enemies in turn.
To help you deal with this slippery agent, we'll tell you everything you need to know about the toxin queen. So let's dive into this.
Chemist extraordinaire Viper knows how to use toxins to his advantage.
Valorant Viper: Abilities
- Ability 1 - Serpent Sting (200 Credits): Description: Selects an acid capsule. Press the FIRE button to launch the pod, which shatters on impact, leaving behind a puddle of acid. Enemies hit by acid take damage and are slowed.
- Ability 2 - Toxic Cloud (200 Credits): Description: Selects a gas diffuser. Press the FIRE button to eject the atomizer, which stays in place until the end of the round. Cast the skill again to release a cloud of poisonous smoke from the atomizer, consuming fuel. Can be used more than once. The sprayer can be moved.
- Signature Ability - Toxic Veil (Free): Description: Selects gas diffusers. Press the FIRE button to fire a long burst of atomizers. When used repeatedly, atomizers form a wall of poisonous smoke, consuming fuel. Skill can be used more than once
- Ultimate - Viper's Nest "ultimate" (7 points): Selects the chemical dispenser. Press the FIRE button to spray a cloud of chemicals around the Viper, reducing the sight range and maximum health of players in it.
However, perhaps Viper's most valuable asset is her Toxic Veil. A line of gas emitters can be used to split the map in two. Mastering this ability can be extremely helpful when trying to take control of certain parts of the map, as it will reduce the number of areas you need to look at.
The Viper Toxic Screen is the ultimate control tool.
How to play Vipera
If you're going to take on this deadly Agent, there's one thing you need to keep in mind: her fuel reserves. While patch 2.06 slightly adjusted the damage dealt by her toxins, both her Toxic Cloud and Toxic Veil deplete Vipera's fuel reserves. If you do not know how to manage them, it becomes almost useless. Both of them take 15 seconds to completely deplete her reserves when used individually, so move on to the training map and time how long it takes for her reserves to deplete in order to coordinate your attacks.
However, the first of these abilities is especially useful. Because her poison cloud acts like smoke, it can be placed at entry points to prevent enemies from sneaking up on you from behind. It's even more effective because it deals 30 health points initially and 10 damage over time, so enemies won't want to rush through it.
- A good move to make once you've planted Spike is to throw a Poison Cloud at him. Not only does it hide the exact location of the bomb, but if enemies plan to sneak up behind you and defuse it, they will be damaged.
The viper's nest performs a similar function. Spraying toxins around Spike means enemies will either have to rush to disable him and be poisoned in the process, or fight through the smoke to try and figure out where you disable their Spike. Just remember to stay inside or come back inside after 15 seconds!
Perhaps this is the whole guide on how to play Valorant as Vipera and master her poisonous abilities!
