Secrets of the Forbidden Section is the tenth main quest in Hogwarts Legacy. This walkthrough will guide you through all the objectives of the Secrets of the Forbidden Section Main Mission.
Demand: by doing Professor Hekat's task 1 (Incendio), Reward 3rd level: 260 XP, Disillusionment Quest Info: Professor Fig was recalled by the headmaster, so I convinced Sebastian to help me get into the restricted section of the library. I was lucky that I asked him for help too, because he taught me the Charm of Disappointment, which helped me get past the prefects and the librarian. Once in the Restricted Section, I discovered an ancient magical portal that led me to a hidden hallway. I was attacked by brooding paladins in the hallway, but I managed to destroy them all! Then I found what looks like an ancient tome. I'm sure Professor Fig will know what it is. Sebastian, on the other hand, was caught by the librarian after Peeves turned us in, but he didn't turn me in. I think Sebastian will be a good and loyal friend.
The interesting part of the video starts at the time mark 22:05
Now we have studied Fire Protection and must report to Professor Figo. This way we can enter the restricted section of the Library and continue our investigation.
Open the map and go to Professor Fig's classroom in the Astronomy Wing section. Once you get there, clickto wait and talk to Professor Fig. At the quest marker, Professor Fig is ready to head to the restricted section of the library, but much to our chagrin, Principal Black will distract Fig.
Talk to Sebastian
Press to activate the enchanted compass. This will open a marker trail that you can follow to your destination. Once you reach it, click to talk to Sebastian. At the quest marker, Sebastian will help us sneak into the Forbidden Section undetected later that night.
Meet Sebastian in the Central Hall at night
Go downstairs to reunite with Sebastian. After a short conversation, he will teach you the invisibility spell. To perform the spell, draw the symbol C.
Sneak into the library
We turn on the de-illumination spell, we quietly pass to the door below.
Talk to Sebastian
Once inside the library, head behind the bookcase to continue.
Get the key from the librarian's desk
Now wait for Sebastian to knock over the stack of books. This will distract the librarian, allowing unnoticed people to walk to the table and snatch the key from the drawer.
Enter the forbidden section
Now move on to the next marker, being careful to stay out of the librarian's line of sight.
Find a book
Open the gate to the restricted section and open chest at the stairs. Then continue down. Once you go downstairs, you will be shown a tutorial on how to distract surrounding enemies with charm.
Check the minimap for a red target moving across the area and cast the main spell on the broken armor on the other side of the room.
When the ghost goes to investigate the noise, you can move on to the next room where another ghost will be wandering around. Use the same tactic as before and as you start down the stairs you will be in sight. Once you get downstairs, check the right side for a chest. Keep walking through the halls and you will eventually come to a chest with an eye, which can be highlighted with Revelation. To be able to open these types of chests, you need to use enchantments to avoid detection. These chests give you a lot of galleons.
Make your way through the halls until you reach the next yellow marker. In the pantry, Peeves will apparate and aim to catch us, but Sebastian volunteers to prevent this.
Use Repair on the armor (lay it again if necessary), then enter the room and open the chest.
Find the secret of the forbidden section
Keep going until you can research a tome of ancient magic similar to the ones you encountered in the very first main quest. Click / for research.
Enter the Reading Room
Go through the portal, go down and open the chest on the left. Then enter the Athenaeum.
Reveal the secret of the hallway
Continue on until you reach a precipice. To do this across, cast a Basic Cast on the rune above the door on the other side.
In the next room, defeat the sentries by any means necessary.
Don't forget to use the environment for extra damage and ancient magic ( + / + ), when it's possible. Ancient Magic is accumulated by successfully attacking or taking damage. Successful 10+ hit combos will start generating Ancient Magic Powers. Collecting them will greatly fill your Ancient Magic Meter and restore a small amount of health.
Proceed to the next room and dispose of the next set of sentries. Once you've eliminated them both, cast the main spell on the rune above the hole to continue forward.
In the next room, drop a Primal Cast on the rune above the hole to create a platform on the right side of the room. From here, continue along the spawning platforms until you come to a forced stop. Then cast a Basic Imprint on the rune again to reveal a new set of platforms allowing you to reach the big chest in the side room.
Now return to the main platform and cast the main spell on the rune again to make the platform move towards you. Then stand on the last set of tiles available and enchant the rune one last time to be able to force the platform to move to its original position and allow you to continue forward.
After you have crossed the hole, check both sides for two chests. Eliminate all the mobs in the next room. When the door opens, approach Pensieve and the book to trigger a cutscene.
