Location of all bosses in Elden Ring: Map of locations where to find each boss in the game

Want to know where each boss is located in Elden Ring? The thing about FromSoftware taking its Souls formula and turning it into one of the biggest and greatest open world experiences you can find is that it's easier than ever to miss certain bosses. There are so many! Can you expect to find them all?

Well, now you definitely won't miss anyone! Take a look at our walkthrough below for the exact location of each boss we've found in Elden Ring, starting at Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula and slowly expanding to cover all of the game's Lands.

Using the Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula map below, you can easily find the location of each boss in the starting zone. Elden Ring. We've labeled each boss on the right side of the map, and also noted which enemies are required bosses for the story; which are particularly difficult; and which ones only appear if you approach the place at night.

Elden Ring Boss Locations: Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula

Bosses of Limgrave

Godric's soldier (boss tutorial)

Players starting a new Elden Ring game should encounter Godric's Soldier in the Cave of Knowledge. This swordsman is a bit tougher than the standard soldiers you'll encounter in Limgrave, but not by much.

Demihuman leader (Coastal cave)

The Coastal Cave is probably the easiest dungeon in Elden Ring, located on the beach just west of when you first set foot in Limgrave. At its end are the Demihuman Leaders, two relatively strong Demihumans who can nevertheless be overpowered very easily by distracting them with their Spirit Ashes and dealing with them one at a time.

tree guardian (Catacombs)

Found at the end of the Stormfoot Catacombs, the Tree Guardian loves to float in the air and slam you down. However, his attack patterns are easy to understand and his health pool is quite low, so this boss should be a piece of cake compared to later encounters.

Beastman of Farum Azula (Forest cave)

The Farum Azul Beastman can be found lurking past the wolves in the cave. He is an unpleasant looking man with an unpleasant looking curved greatsword and a fondness for long combos. Luckily, he has low poise and is easily parried, leading to an easy early boss fight.

Rock Troll (Limgrave Tunnels)

The rockdigger troll may look mighty, but with the right setup (i.e. magic setup) it's a pusher. He's at the end of the Limgrave Tunnels dungeon, and while his attacks are painful if they land, it's easy to stay out of his range and pummel him with spells.

Boneyard Duelist (Moorkwater Catacombs)

You'll have to fight through a nasty little dungeon of imps lurking around corners to get to the Graveguard Duelist; but it's actually not that bad once you enlist the help of your Spirit Ashes. Even after he gains strength, he doesn't hit terribly hard and his attacks are easily blocked and weathered by the shield.

Neridius, Bloodied Finger (Agel River)

Nerijus, Bloody Finger might get you in a bit of trouble at first if you don't know. He spawns as you head upriver from the Agil River, past the bridge, and will attack you with a combination of melee and ranged attacks. Luckily, a mysterious stranger comes to your rescue if you last long enough.

patchwork (Dirty cave)

An inside joke to many FromSoft veterans, Patches is a simple mercenary boss who will give up after you deal enough damage to him. You can find him at the end of a very short dungeon, Moorwater Caverns - but it's important that you find him, because if you spare his life, he will open a shop where you can purchase an item that will help you in a certain important future fight...

Guardian Golem (Highroad Cave)

Highroad Cave Guardian Golem may seem tough at first, but once you've cracked the secret of this boss fight, it's a walk in the park. Take a blunt weapon and target the legs with heavy attacks to bring it to the ground, ready for a critical chest hit.

Killer with a black knife (Catacombs with death)

The Black Knife Assassin is a slippery client that you can find at the end of the Death Catacombs north of Limgrave. He likes to dodge backwards and wait for the right moment to strike - but his attacks aren't very strong on their own, so you can easily block him and slowly reduce his health bar down to size with some patience.

Renegade Henricus (Colosseum Road)

The Renegade Henricus invades as you walk towards the Limgrave Colosseum, located northeast of Stormhill Shack. He uses heavy melee attacks that do a lot of damage on hit, but you'll find them to be quite slow as well. To do an easy job for Henricus, equip yourself with a fast melee weapon like the Dagger and lower his health while rolling to avoid any damage.

Pumpkinhead Madman (Waypoint ruins)

The pumpkinhead madman is located in the basement under the Waypoint Ruins and guards the room where the Sorceress Sellen lives, ready to transfer witchcraft knowledge to the player. The pumpkinhead madman loves to headbutt you and hit you with his bleeding punch. Take your time, don't be greedy for your attacks, and you'll be fine.

Night Rider (Highway Bridge)

During the day, the highway bridge separating East Limgrave from West Limgrave is guarded by an ordinary mounted soldier. At night, this soldier is replaced by the Night Riders, a much more powerful horseman with an evil halberd with amazing reach. If you are fighting this boss, use hit and run tactics with Torrent.

Three Wise Beasts (Church Elleh Road)

Tree Sentinel is similar to an even more difficult version of Night's Cavalry (above). He's also likely to be the first real boss you'll encounter in Elden Ring, as he's in plain sight when you first enter Limgrave. He is a tough enemy at the start of the game; I would suggest using Torrent and distract the Sentinel with a good selection of Spirit Ashes.

Eghil, the winged dragon (Lake Eghill)

Egheel, the winged dragon has the most wow factor of any of the bosses in Limgrave - but it's really not that hard to deal with as long as you stay mounted throughout the fight. Aghil will fly down into the center of the lake as you approach, spewing flames and lashing you with his tail, but his powerful attacks telegraph clearly and are easily dodged.

Tibia Mariner (Summonwater Village)

Tibia Mariner - A curious boss that summons undead skeletal enemies to fight alongside him, he teleports about Summonwater Village. The Sailor himself basically just sits there and lets you carve him, only occasionally getting up to crash into the ground. So ignore the minions and prioritize the Mariner to end this fight quickly.

Anastasia, Tarnished (Smoldering Church)

Anastasia, the Tarnished Devourer, another invader, like Bloodfinger Neriyus; You will encounter her as you approach the Smoldering Church on the border between Limgrave and the much more dangerous Calid Wilds to the east. Take your time to fight this rival: it's easy to stay out of her reach, but one wrong move can mean the end thanks to her deceptively powerful attacks.

Bloodhound Knight Darryvil (prison)

Darrywil the Bloodhound Knight lives inside the Forlorn Hound Evergaol south of Limgrave. Enter the Penitentiary to meet him and you'll find that he's a fast and aggressive warrior who can be a significant challenge to a new player. Luckily, you can call on a certain friend to help you if you know how.

Knight of the Crucible (Stormhill Evergaol)

Crucible Knight has given me more trouble than any boss I've mentioned so far during my first playthrough. Waiting for you inside Stormhill Evergaol, this sinister armored warrior has unexpected moments in his attack combos and deals a lot of damage with every hit. He also starts using angel wings and holy attacks during his intense second phase.

Bell Bearer Hunter (Warlord's Hut)

The Bell Hunter is a very powerful enemy that spawns in place of Knight Bernal in the Warmaster's Hut when you approach at night. The Bell Hunter is a tough warrior who can telekinetically control his sword to unleash dangerous mid-range attacks. The easiest way to defeat him is to stay out of his reach and hit him with spells or arrows until he falls.

Wounded Tree Spirit (Fringefolk Hero's Grave)

The Corrupted Tree Spirit, despite being available very early on in Fringefolk Hero's Grave, is probably the toughest boss in all of Limgrave (including the region's main bosses). His movements are erratic, designed to confuse his extremely powerful attacks; and it can also absorb quite a lot of punishments. I would recommend leaving this boss alone until you have completed everything else in the region.

Interestingly, you can also find another dwelling of the Corrupted Tree Spirit under Stormvale Castle. To get there, head to Grace Secluded Cell, head to the potty area opposite, but then double back and climb up to the ledge above the doorway and jump through the window to the side. From there, follow the new path down and it will eventually lead you to a brand new part of Stormvale Castle.

Margate, A Terrible Omen (Stormvale Castle)

The first "mandatory" boss in Elden Ring is the unsightly Margit, The Fell Omen. He guards the entrance to Stormvale Castle, and you will not be allowed to advance into the castle itself until you defeat him. Margit is a powerful boss by early game standards, with long reach and relentless offensive combos.

Grafted Scion (Stormvale Castle)

Grafted Scion is the first boss you will encounter in Elden Ring. In a typical FromSoftware move, you are given a Grafted Scion in a training dungeon to die quickly to give you an idea of what is to come in this punishing and challenging game. As such, you should already be familiar with the Grafted Scion's multi-armed sword attacks and unusual, spider-like moves - which is a good thing, because you'll soon encounter it again in the bowels of Stormvale Castle.

Godric the grafted (Stormvale Castle)

Godric the grafted is the lord of Stormvale Castle and the main boss of Limgrave. So, as you can imagine, he is far from pushing. Like Margit, Godric uses aggressive combo attacks that require many consecutive dodges; and his second phase gives him the use of a dragon's head as a hand that acts like a flamethrower, which you have to be very careful when approaching.

Weeping Peninsula Bosses

Cerberus of the Cemetery of the Tree of Erd (Tepes Catacombs)

The Cemetery Cerberus of the Tree of Erd from Stormfoot Catacombs makes another appearance in the far east of the Weeping Peninsula in the hidden Tepes Catacombs. This fight is identical to the other Watchdog fights, except this arena also has a few small Imp creatures that will stalk you during the fight. I would recommend removing them first.

Runebear (Gardenbore Cave)

At the bottom of the hole in Earthbog Cave, you will find a sleeping Rune Bear, which quickly wakes up and tries to maul you to death as you approach. This Rune Bear is identical to the Rune Bears that usually stomp Mistwood. They are powerful opponents, but not quite by boss standards. Dodge, slice, rinse, repeat.

Night Cavalry (Castle Morne Rampart)

As you approach Castle Morne at night, you will encounter other night cavalry, like the one guarding the highway bridge at Limgrave. This variant of Night's Cavalry has a Night Rider that he drops on death for you to use. It is otherwise functionally identical to the other Night Cavalry.

Deathbird (Castle Morne Outskirts)

Head west after passing the wall where you fought the Night Cavalry above and as you approach the ramparts you will be greeted by a terrifying giant bird with a long neck and a human skull for its face. This Deathbird has a fair amount of health and will suddenly lunge towards you, making it a good idea for you to stay on your horses for this fight.

Cemetery Shadow (Catacombs facing the tombs)

The Graveyard Shadow Shadow can be found at the end of the Tombsward Catacombs. With dual blades and the ability to dissipate into a dark mist at will, it can be difficult to spot the Graveyard Shadow. But once you do, you'll find that he actually has very little health, so this fight shouldn't take too long.

Erdtry Avatar (Minor Erdtry)

Avatars of Erdtree guard most of the Lesser Erdtrees found in the Lands Between in Elden Ring. Erdtree's Avatar on the Weeping Peninsula is the smallest of them all, but it still packs a hell of a punch. Use fire and Spirit Ashes as a distraction; and be careful also to run sideways to avoid being attacked by multiple golden spells.

Scaled Unfortunate (Tunnel of Morne)

Open when... you're tired of the mess in the house - "The room is not a mess, it's an assault track designed to keep you in shape." Open when... you're sad - "Whenever you're sad, just remember that somewhere in this world there is an idiot who is yanking on a door that says push." Open when… you are in the mood to listen to music open when templates - “I hate it when I sing a song, and the performer mixed up the words!”. (My mom often sings the words wrong!) Reveal when... you're tired of work - "When life gives you lemons, freeze them and throw them as hard as you can at people who complicate your life!".

Scaly Misbegotten - A boss that quickly becomes a common enemy as you progress through the game. but they are always a tough opponent when you meet them. These strong enemies wield a massive ax and delay their strikes longer than you think, daring to dodge too early and be punished for it.

Ancient Hero of Zamora (weeping peninsula)

The ancient hero Zamora resides in the Weeping Peninsula, which is the only Evergaol in the Weeping Peninsula. This tall figure uses a hooked blade and cold attacks, so naturally you should use fire damage if you have it. Dodge his cold breath attack and hit him from behind for a lot of damage.

Bastard Leonin (Castle Morne)

The Bastard Leonine is the worst enemy in the Weeping Peninsula and the boss of Castle Morne. You will find it on the beach below the castle. He is a powerful and aggressive boss who loves to wear down your stamina with repeated combo attacks, so your best bet is to bring something to break his rhythm.
