In the 1960s, the US military discovered a large alien stone engraved with symbols, as well as a wall with strange runes written in another language. A flamboyant young scientist named Dr. Urik Harsgaard led a team of researchers tasked with translating these mysterious runes. Deciphering the inscription told them that the stone was called the World Stone and could allow them to travel to other worlds. He also showed them how to create "Dreamers" - people connected to powerful beings in these other worlds.
The military created the facility that would become known as Ward Prime. They began experimenting with the World Stone itself and eventually with people they called "Dreamers". Due to his familiarity with runes, Dr. Harsgaard took on the role of lead researcher for Project Dreamer in Ward Prime. Using what he learned from the strange letter, he found "codes" that could be used to connect dreamers to other worlds.
Although the initial experiments with the Dreamer began promisingly, they ended in tragedy when both dreamers and researchers died. However, this did not stop Dr. Harsgaard. Ignoring the advice of his peers and security protocols, he continued to push his teams in Ward Prime and the distant Wards to further research. After months of around-the-clock experimentation, they were finally able to establish a stable connection to the other world with the help of a dreamer.
Walkthrough of Ward Prime in Subject 2923
Once you enter Ward Prime, go downstairs and activate the checkpoint. There are no hostile enemies in the Ward unless you activate one of the rifts, so feel free to explore the area. While in the rift, you will encounter two types of enemies. Ranged enemies can be killed, while melee enemies will only be hit but regenerate after a short time. To unlock the blast doors, you need to follow these steps:
- Turn left and go to the end of the corridor. Activate the gap. Run to the opposite side of the building and destroy the root obstacle blocking the door.
- Go down and explore the area. You will find another gap and a second root obstacle. Activate the gap and destroy the root barrier
- Go through the door and turn left. To your right is a window. Climb up it to enter the room. Use your weapons to destroy the bookcase. On the other hand you will find Ward Prime Maintenance Key.
- Return to the first break and use the Ward Prime Maintenance Key to open the door next to it. This will take you to a room with a generator. Head inside and use the gaps to destroy all the root obstacles. You will need to destroy 3 obstacles, each on a different floor (use the same gap for all)
- After you destroy all root obstacles, use the computer located in the control room next to the generator and activate it. This will restore power.
- Activate the first gap again and destroy the root obstacle located to the right of the generator room. Go down the stairs and go to the other side. Head up the stairs and you will notice a hole in the wall. Aim at the hole and destroy the lock on the door. The door will open. Go back down and pick up the items in the room on the right. Open the door leading back to the Medical Bay. Turn left and the door will now be open. In the last room you will find the Ring of Honor.
- Exit the room on the ramp and turn right. Now the computers will work. Interact with the computer to open the door leading to the Medicine Vault, inside you will find the Ward Prime Keycard.
- Use the Ward Prime Keycard on the door located next to the Medicine Storage. This will take you to the Lab.
- Once inside the laboratory, look for a breach. Interact with the breach and go down. You will find three different root obstacles (you need to do this three times if you want to unlock all the rooms). The Ward Prime Fuse will spawn randomly in one of the three rooms.
- Head up to the upper level (Research Bay) and use the Ward Prime Keycard to unlock the door leading back to the first checkpoint.
- On the opposite side of the building you will find the Main Bay food room. Go inside and insert the Ward Prime Fuse and activate the power (note that you need to interact with the fuse box twice. One to insert the Ward Prime Fuse and another to restore power.
- After turning on the power, go outside and turn left. You will find a small room with two computers and a board game. Interact with the computer located in the middle and press "Enter Password". You will need to enter the numbers by solving the puzzle (you can find the password for the computer here)
- After you're done, click "Unlock Pantry" and the door to your right will open. Inside you can find Submachine Gun
- Go back to the first Breach and use the computers right in front of the Blast Doors. You should now be able to open the blast doors.
- Activate the Breach and destroy the Root Obstruction and the quest will be completed. You will receive 2.312 Scrap and Wisdom Damn.
- Interact with the portal and you will reach Reisum.

Second pass
Once you complete the Raizum card, you will be teleported back to Ward Prime. Tell Clementine you're ready and activate the breach behind you. Enter the portal and a boss fight against Harsgaard will begin. Once you defeat him, you will have to defeat him again as Harsgaard, Root Harbinger.
After you defeat him, you will see a short cutscene, the credits will play, and you will be teleported back to Ward 13.
