Overwatch Halloween Terror 2019 - Everything You Need to Know

post-img

Annual event  Overwatch Halloween terror is around the corner. This means that new, spooky skins, seasonal game modes and the return of spooky cosmetics from yesteryear are coming soon to the team shooter. Blizzard.

The Overwatch team announced the start of the Bastion Brick Challenge event on Tuesday, which featured LEGO badges and a spray, as well as a new Bastion skin built entirely from Lego toy blocks. What would that mean for Halloween Terror 2019?

Blizzard has yet to say a word about its fourth October event. But based on the recently announced LEGO collaboration and previous Halloween events, there is a rough idea of when Halloween Terror 2019 will start and what it will bring.

Here's what we can expect from Overwatch this October.

When does the Overwatch Halloween Terror 2019 event start?

Bastion's Brick Challenge runs until September 30th, exactly one day before October goes into effect, giving you plenty of time to prepare for this year's Halloween horror.

The last three October events began on the second Tuesday of the month. Blizzard could remove the Bastion block challenge after September 30th and use the next week and a half to prepare for their Halloween patch. But gamers may have to wait a few days before the official announcement of the event.

Blizzard announced Bastion's Brick Challenge on the day of her launch, and in May, she notified fans of her fourth anniversary three days before her launch.

The second Tuesday in October falls on the 8th this year, so expect an announcement on October 5th if they stick to the anniversary event scenario. As far as specific start times go, you can expect Overwatch's Halloween 2019 update to arrive around 17:00 AM ET.

What new Halloween terror 2019 skins are waiting for us?

The most anticipated part of Halloween Terror 2019 is a batch of spooky cosmetics that traditionally comes with an event and the ability to unlock old Halloween skins again.

Blizzard has always released a mixture of Legendary and Epic skins in October, but the number has varied greatly from year to year. Halloween Terror 2016 saw the most of these changes with eight epic skins and four legendary ones. The following year, fans received seven legendary skins, but no epic ones. Three epics and six legends were released last year.

Expect anywhere from seven to ten new skins this year. Blizzard has never released more than 12 skins since 2016, and it naturally gets harder to think of more ideas as the game matures.

Which heroes will receive Halloween terror 2019 skins?

In the end, it will come down to the ideas of the developers who will determine who gets the new looks. But by looking at which heroes have the least alternative skins overall, we can evaluate which heroes are most likely to get priority.

Both Orissa and Anna haven't received a new legendary skin for a year, and they each only have three legendary event skins overall. This is very low compared to Torbjorn and Mei, for example, who have seven legendary skins.

Next come Doomfist, Sombra and Symmetra. The trio each have four legendary skins and have gone through a significant amount of time without getting any new looks.

Ash, Baptiste and Sigma are also potential candidates as this will be their first Halloween terror. They will almost certainly get new sprays and voice lines as they all don't have Halloween themed cosmetics yet.

Will there be new game modes for Halloween Terror 2019?

Junkenstein's revengewill likely return for a fourth time. The co-op-based game mode has been a Halloween Terror staple since 2016, as well as its Junkenstein Endless variant.

This year the Summer Games reused the Lucio ball with several different arenas. So it's entirely possible that Blizzard will change the Junkenstein Revenge setup a bit, but the main game mode will likely remain as the main arcade game of the event.

Will there be any new Halloween themed cards for Halloween Terror 2019?

Blizzard has traditionally revised several of its maps to reflect spooky celebrations like Hollywood and Eichenwald. Last year we saw the introduction of the spooky Château Gaillard so we could see another option.

There were no hints that this could happen, but Dorado would have been a better choice.

Fans will have to wait and see what scary surprises Blizzard has in store for their fourth annual Halloween Terror event.
