How to start the quest "Cleansing Defilement"

Let's start with the fact that the world quest "Purification of Filth" is part of the quest line "Cleansing of the sacred sakurawhich includes the following tasks:

• A Strange Story in Konda
• Sacrificial Offering
• Cleansing Defilement
• Yougou Cleansing

Each of these quests contains a location with an energy barrier that must be removed in order to continue progress in the quest. In the same guide, we will focus on removing barriers in the Purification of Fel quest, as well as on the key points of this quest:

Note: The quest comes after the Sacrifice quest, so it makes perfect sense that you won't be able to find it in your quest list without completing the previous part.

Complete the Purification Ritual of the Sacred Cherry Blossom

The mission to cleanse the Sacred Sakura is complicated by 3 energy barriers at once, located in different places on Narukami Island. Below is a map that indicates the exact locations of the barriers and puzzles, the solution of which will destroy these barriers:

How to remove the Tinju Forest Energy Barrier

The first barrier that needs to be neutralized is located in the Tinju Forest location, namely at the coastline of the island, as indicated in the image below:

This is where you can take the quest. "Hayashi from Tanuki in the forest." Before you get to the part containing the energy barrier and the lantern puzzle, you need to complete certain steps to find some tanuki and talk to the statue of Iora. All this is described in detail in our separate guide.

We will assume that you still made your way through the wall with the help of Tanuki, and we will continue our guide from this place:

First, with the help of the amulet of the statue of Ioroi, you need to clean the main lamp, and then follow the following route and set the order indicators listed below:

Don't touch the first! The unit (1) is set there, and this corresponds to the scheme we need. On the next set four (4).

If you go straight and turn left at the root, there will be a third lamp and the number 3.

Return to the first two lamps and climb up the root. There are two missing elements of the quest. One is on the right and the other on the left. And on one and on the other you need to install a deuce (2):

Go back to the main statue that has one left (1) to activate it.

Finally, defeat the samurai Ochimusya that will appear. This completes the first puzzle.

How to remove the Energy Barrier in Kamisato Manor

One of the purification rituals is held not far from the Kamisato estate.

You must find the barrier and then destroy it like everyone else.

Head to the location shown on the map below:

Here you will see statues of kitsune. Use your memory lens on the fox statue ("Z" key on PC).

After that, a large Heavenly Kitsune Statue will appear. Then use an electro attack on a large statue to get Charm in the form of a key.

Then head to the small island indicated on the map below using the breakwater:

The island contains as many as 3 statues of Kitsune foxes, forming a circle between them.

If you approach the electrocool, you will see a small fox statue hidden under the rocks. Use the lens again to open the way down.

After descending into the barrier zone, take another electrocool.

Jump down. This is a dangerous area, be extremely careful. The zone is highly electrified and your characters will be metadically depleted of XP. Electrogranums will help to avoid the harmful effects of electricity. You can learn more about electrogrooms find out here!

Head down to the main lamp and the lantern puzzle. "Cleanse" the first lamp, using the charm in the form of a key.

Follow the order shown in the image below. This time, the main cleaning light is in the middle.

We do not change the central one and one (1) remains on it. Turning 180, the lantern on which we set the deuce (2). On the one that stands to the right of the central one, we set the three (3). The furthest one, which is in front of the center one, should have a value of two (2). On the last one, located to the upper left of the central one, we put three (3).

Now go back to the central lamp and activate it, which will summon 2 Ochimushi Samurai at once. When the fight is completed with him, you will complete the second part of the cherry peeling quest.

How to remove the energy barrier in Araumi

This is not a simple segment and a barrier on the way to which you have to sweat. Head to Araumi, to a huge sakura tree with a ruined tower in the middle.

Here you will need to get into the cave that contains the entrance to the Empty Boat of a Thousand Doors dungeon, but first you need to solve the electrical puzzle first.
To unlock the console near the big tree, you need to light all four statues with an electric charge.

The first two statues are located in plain sight.

For the next statue, find a group of five electric cubes.
In order to unlock the statue, you need to unlock the cubes first.
Shoot the cubes from above so that they turn to face you. Once they all face the same direction, a chest will appear and the statue will be unlocked.

As for the fourth electro-statue, it is located closer to the northern cliff.
When you get to the area, you will have to face several mobs. Kill them and light the fourth statue.

Finally, you can use the "console" cube near the tree.

How to get a chest in the Purification of Filth quest

You will hear some noises from below. Climb up the broken tower and you'll see a precious chest below.

Also nearby you will find statues of foxes. Look at each of them with the lens of memories, and at that moment, pressure plates will appear on the walls. Pressing all the plates-keys will open the passage to the dungeon. Before you go down there, take the electro-granum.

Here you will find more fox statues. Some of the figurines are hidden, but they are necessary for the cleansing ritual.
Use your lens again to find them all.

How to get a talisman in the Purification of Corruption quest

Next, take the electrogranum and enter the electric barrier. Use an electro attack on the kitsune statue and get a talisman.

How to break the barrier and solve the fox statue puzzle

Then start clearing and you will see patterns again.
Follow the order shown in the image below. If you can't find the statue, you may need to double-check the area with a lens.

Pray over the statue and Ochimushi will appear. Defeat the enemy and you're done.
The mission will end and you will be rewarded with 500 Adventure Points, 60 Source Stones, 5 Hero XP, 50 Pestilence, and 000 Enchant Magic Ore. The next world quest will begin "Cleansing Him".
