At the exit from the statue on the stairs you will see a Tanuki, which can be heard from afar. He jumps and moves quickly from place to place. A few jumps, and a torch will appear in its place, which you need to light with a pyro element. After that, Tanuki Sesei will appear.

Tanuki Kitiboshi is in the barrel, but before you can find him, you will have to kill the Hilichurls.

Now again you need to find the Tanuki making sounds, he will be right in front of the entrance to the stairs. It will also disappear and reappear in new places until a torch appears. Listen carefully and you'll always know where he is!

Now you need to light 3 torches by the stream and Tanuki Gebu Koban will appear.

Go back and talk to Ioroy and he will give you a scroll charm to destroy the barrier.
