There will be no new version of the VR helmet for PS5 yet
Sony is known to offer PS VR owners a free adapter to connect the headset to the console. This indirectly indicates that the company is not going to release a new VR helmet, at least at first.
Now there is official confirmation of this.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan confirmed in an interview with The Washington Post that there are no drastic changes planned for VR.
The reason for this is that so far this area is not considered significant in the company. In the future, VR is sure to become an important aspect of interactive entertainment, but this is not to be expected in the near future. And while Ryan didn't say it directly, it's clear that the company isn't going to be in a rush to release a new PS VR.
At the moment, according to the CEO, the company is hoping for an increase in the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers. To do this, they will be given access to 20 free top PS4 games on PS5 consoles. This will allow you to evaluate how backwards compatibility will improve older titles.
Ryan also looks forward to more games with rich story and narrative elements. The specifications and capabilities of the PS5 should improve such games.
