It took 30 years to make this movie. Watch the New Dark Fiction Trailer
The trailer for Mad God, Phil Tippett's frame-by-frame animation set in science fiction, has been released online. It took 30 years to produce and we will see it later this year.
Phil Tippett, a well-known visual effects specialist, showed off the trailer for his cinematic project, which he has been working hard on for over 30 years. The tape is called "Mad God", and it will be a dark fantasy dystopian film, filmed using the technique of stop-motion animation. So we're talking about a very specific animation inspired by Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox or Isle of Dogs, but this time get ready to work in a completely different climate.
Tippett rose to fame in the film industry mainly for his work on the Star Wars series (he even played Rancor in them, for which his work was a project) and Jurassic Park. However, he always operated in the shadows and was never fully recognized for his accomplishments. So Mad God might be his pass to sign in gold letters on the pages of the cinematic (the animation looks amazing).
"Mad God" will debut at this year's Locarno Film Festival in early August. The director assures that immediately after the end of the event he will take care of the correct distribution of work, but at the moment he has not provided any information about this. Most likely, it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most interesting movie premieres of 2021.
