Shadowlands Mounts - All WoW Mounts Available

Our Shadowlands Mounts Guide reveals the variety of mounts, including their descriptions and locations where they can be found.

In Shadowlands there is a huge number of mounts (already over 800), which are commonly called mounts. This is a great source of mobility in the game. The guide is intended to show the variety of mounts and in it all the game mounts are divided into sections according to their main source of obtaining. Similar mounts are shown as two columns Horde and Alliance where appropriate.

The guide also reflects various information related to mounts:

For purchased mounts in the guide, prices are indicated without discounts. If the merchant belongs to a certain faction and you have a certain level of reputation with it, then you will receive a discount, but only on the price in gold. Discounts do not apply to other types of currencies. The size of the discount is determined by the attitude to this faction, up to a maximum of 20% from exalted.

Mounts that can drop from various creatures, as well as chests and other boxes, have a chance of dropping next to them. The gradation used in the guide is based on the drop chances (DR) taken from the in-game item database section of the official website. Roughly they correspond to the following percentages:

  • Guaranteed 100%
  • Very high (Very high) 80-99%
  • High (High) 60-79%
  • Medium (Medium) 16-59%
  • Low (Low) 5-15%
  • Very low (Very low) 1-4%
  • Extremely low Less than 1%

Mounts in the open world

Location: Ardenweald

Silky Shimmering Moth. (Flying mount)
Moths play an important role in the Ardenweald ecosystem. They carry spores, anima and pollen from one part of the forest to another, provide other creatures with food and delight the eye.

The mount is sold by Senior Clerk Salorn for 30.000 gold. However, in order for the mount to appear among his goods, you must participate in and successfully complete 7 different theatrical productions of the Lake of Stars Amphitheater.
To access the amphitheater, you need to direct the flow of anima to the Dreamsong Grove sub-location. This action can only be performed by players with the Night Fae covenant in the Heart of the Forest using the Anima Conduit. After that, it will be possible to talk with the director of Fast Dew, who will launch an event with the call of rares for theatrical productions. This action is only available to players who have chosen the Night Fae covenant. Only one of them is available every day, and most likely they change at random.

wood bag cutter. (Ground mount)
“Dense thickets on the skin of this toad are part of its body. They help her draw the anima out of thin air."

Dropped by Vel'ikkan with 100% chance. To summon him, you need to get a large mushroom that drops from any creatures in the Ardenweald, and then have time to take it to a pile of wet clay (after all, the mushroom disappears after 20 minutes). By planting it in this clay, it will grow into a large NPC mushroom, which you will need to kill.

Wild twinkling foxtail. (Ground mount)
"This creature's bright green fur stands out sharply against the Ardenweald's purple-blue color scheme, making it easier for other foxtails to see it in the midnight forest."

Dropped by Valfir the Steadfast with a small chance. This rarnik dodges attacks as it is hidden by a veil of mist that protects it. Removing the veil will require the help of a player who has chosen the Night Fae covenant and has completed the first stage of the covenant campaign. On the task of Thirst for Roots, such a player will be able to direct the flow of anima to the Tirna Skitt sublocation, after which in this area he will be able to pick up the Light of the Animaseed, with the help of which the veil is removed from the rare.
However, it is possible to kill a rarnik without removing the veil. at the moment of casting his abilities, damage passes through him. But this will require gathering more players.

Fast black-hoofed horse. (Flying mount)
Only available to players who have chosen the Night Fae covenant.

Ardenweald ballads say that the birth of a darkhorn marks the transition to the afterlife of one of the good Wild Gods. Therefore, seeing a darkhorn is both a blessing and a curse.

The mount has a 100% chance to drop from Nightmare. This rare can't be targeted or interacted with in any way, as it's in a different dream dimension. To enter this dream and fight it, you need to collect a dream trap. The trap can only be assembled by players who have chosen the Night Fae covenant. First you need to get a torn network of souls, which is not easy to get to without flying. Then you need to repair the network with Elder Gwenna and after that you need to ask Ysera in Arwenveld to turn it into a dream trap. Now with its help you can get into the sleep phase and fight with the rare.

woodborer pufferfish. (Ground mount)
To control the gorms, spriggan riders tie their animaless remains to long sticks. The idea is not new, but always relevant.

This mount is looted from the Gorm Tamer Tizo. To summon a rarnik, you need to kill the Elite Sharppine Horrors that ride crazed guardians near the Labyrinth of Mistveil Thicket. After killing these horrors, there is a small chance that Khrumpi will be summoned. In this case, they will shout in the chat: “The enemies are too strong! Save us, Tizo!". And after killing Khrumpy, the rarnik we need will appear Horm Tamer Tizo.

Shimmering Mist Runner. (Flying mount)
Malicious spriggans and horned horses can't stand each other. Horned horses feel the unkind nature of the spriggans and will never let them saddle them. This angers the Spriggans, and they often come up with all sorts of mean jokes in retaliation.

This mount can be obtained by clicking on the NPC of the same name, which is located at the end of the Mistveil Thicket Labyrinth. But in order to be able to interact with him, you need to defeat Shizger, who is holding this runner. Also, in order to be able to attack Shizger, you must enter the labyrinth and follow it along a certain route: visually, it is marked with blue lamps, when they are red for the wrong passages. Additionally, there are many opponents walking in this area that can prevent you from reaching the mob. It is recommended to use mount equipment that does not allow dismounting when attacking.

Cradle of the wild seed. (Flying mount)
This wagon is lovingly carved to carry Ardenweald's most prized cargo, wild seeds. It is filled with anima, thanks to which it floats a short distance from the ground.

To get this mount, you need to open the Cache of the Moon, located in Tirna Vaal in Ardenweald. Initially, this treasure is hidden from the eyes of the players and reveals only a slight purple glow behind the guardian guarding the treasure - the pixie gardener Twinklestar. To open the cache, you need to collect 5 garden tools that the gardener lost during the attack of evil spirits on the Garden of Night.

  • Night Diary - Found on a table on a raised platform in a tree, use one of the ramps to get to it (38.99, 56.96)
  • ➤Gardener's Hammer - found in the wagon (39.75, 54.40)
  • Gardener's Bag - found next to the fountain on the ground (40.31, 52.62)
  • Gardener's Flute - Found on the ground below a group of dancing spriggans (38.49, 58.08)
  • ➤Gardener's Wand - found under the cart (38.85, 60.10)

After collecting all the items, they are combined into Shimmerstar's Garden Tools, which must be given to the gardener. After that, she will buff the player with a moon gaze, allowing you to interact with the chest we need.

Location: Maldraxus

Predatory Plague Roc. (Flying mount)
Legends of Giger's eternal hunger circulate in the house of the Kadauri. There has not yet been born such an animal that Giger could not devour and digest.

This mount can be obtained from the Giger rare, which has a moderate drop rate. To summon him, you will need a player who has chosen the Necrolord covenant and direct the flow of anima to the Cadaver House sublocation. After that, the player will be able to interact with the last thread on the table where the huge construct lies. Pulling it to the side, the construct comes to life and rises from the table. Players can only kill him.

Skullpig Kostoruba. (Ground mount)
Sabriel was known for her ability to quickly and efficiently dismember the bodies of defeated enemies in order to feed their bones to her trusty skullpig.

The mount drops from the Sabriel Kostorub rare. This rarnik is located in the Theater of Pain, and requires a player who has chosen the Necrolord covenant and completed the first stage of the covenant campaign to activate it. This player needs to direct the flow of anima to the location of the Theater of Pain. After that, you need to go there and kill all the champions of the theater, until the huge Drolonmet appears. After killing him, Sabriel Kostorub dismounts from him, from which the mount we need can fall out.

bloodspin. (Ground mount)
To become the leader of the host of lich servants in the House of Rites, Nerissa trampled countless enemies while riding Bloodback.

Obtaining this mount is straightforward and simple: it can drop from the Nerissa the Heartless rare, which sometimes appears in the Maldraxxus location, not far from the House of Rituals. No additional action is required from the player. Apparently, the chance of a mount drop is low.

The slime-covered reins of a massive Necroruh. (Flying mount)
Necroruhs are sewn together from a nightmarish hodgepodge of entrails, organs and bones - everything that was left after the creation of the soldiers of House Kadavrov.

Obtaining the mount is connected with the holding of the Monster Tank event in the Plague House sublocation. Here you will need to kill small creatures, after the death of which liquids of different colors remain on the ground and they need to be collected and transferred to the tank. To fill the tank, you need to collect 30 pcs of liquids, and depending on their proportions, a certain rare will appear at the end. The mount drops from a purple error, for which you need to collect liquids in the tank in the combination: Blue = Red > Yellow.
The mount has a small chance of dropping, but there are no restrictions on loot from it, so you can call it every time and hope for luck.

Dark blood tusk. (Ground mount)
The House of the Chosen prepares their steeds for the most difficult trials, so that they do not flinch even in the most brutal battle.

Like the previous Bloodtusk, this mount does not require any specific actions to obtain and the mount simply drops from Warbringer Mal'Korak. It is located at the top of the tower in the Warspire sub-location. Mount drop chance is small.

Gnawed reins of a fledgling bonewing. (Flying mount)
In the harsh wastelands of Maldraxxus, bonewings occupy a niche as both predator and prey, continuing the cycle of life and death in the Shadowlands.

The acquisition of this mount has not yet been revealed by the players. At the moment, in the mount log in the game, its source is marked as the location of Maldraxxus.

Gnawed Reins of a Tempered Warhound. (Ground mount)
Wardogs find comfort in conflict, and Conquests of Conquest are a great place for these beasts to hone their abilities.
Can be obtained at the Theater of Pain in downtown Maldraxxus. Periodically, a battle with one of the 5 elite opponents takes place in the arena of the theater, and after killing one, the next one is activated. Mount drops with a small chance from any of these 5 opponents.

Location: Revendreth

Blanchi's Reins (Ground mount)
During her lifetime, Blanchi seemed to everyone an affectionate and well-bred horse with a wonderful character and excellent appetite. What evil did she secretly commit that she was among the condemned souls of Revendreth?

For unknown reasons, localizers translated the name of the mount as Blanchi, although we know that the horse has its own history and its correct name is Savraska.
It will take at least 6 days to get the mount. The mount can be obtained after interacting with Dead Savraska for 6 days. She spawns in the northern part of the Brackenbog zone in Revendreth, just south of the Old Gate Elevator, and upon her spawn, begins to run quickly around Brackenbog. After interacting, the player can give the desired item to Savraska, which she needs on a given day. In total there are 6 such items that can be collected in advance.

Faithful Devourer. (Ground mount)
The Death Eaters emerging from the rifts between the worlds are uncontrollably drawn to the anime. Almost nothing is known about their origin, but all the inhabitants of the Dark Lands fear that their activity is a sign of the coming end of time.

The method of obtaining this mount is similar to obtaining the Savrasky mount, only here you will need to complete certain tasks within 7 days. First you need to knock out the spawn of the impressionable swallow, which can fall from the Devourer from the Edge of the World. To see and be able to attack this mob, you need to use the seductive anima, which will drop with a small chance from creatures nearby (ticks and other devourers).
After receiving the spawn of the gullet, he will crawl away towards the Dead Marsh and will issue a new task every day to help him. As you complete them, it will grow until it becomes a large mount, which you will receive for completing the 7th quest.

Dread Dreadwing. (Flying mount)
Harika the Terrifying was a terror to all the inhabitants of the Forest Reach. Now that she is no more, her offspring are ready to bring terror to the farther reaches.

The mount drops from the Harik the Terrible rare, which requires a player who has chosen the Venthyr covenant and completed the first stage of the covenant campaign to summon. This player needs to direct the anima flow to the Shadow Crypt Hill sub-location. After that, players will be able to see this rarnik flying along the cliff south of the local flight point. But you can't attack him. To bring it down to the ground you need to collect it in the Doomed Forest
one bolt and two tools from an eerie hollow. These items should be given to Mudborn Craftsman and Wingslayer. It remains only to talk with the Wingbreaker and he will shoot at the rarnik, which will cause him to fall to the ground and it will be possible to join the battle with him.

Banemarsh Flyer's Harness. (Flying mount)
These winged devourers emerge from portals of little known nature. They have settled in the Dead Marsh, where they feed on latent anima.

Can be obtained from Famu the Infinite, which can be found in the Brackenbog sub-location. In order for the rarnik to fight with you, you need to talk to Seeker Hilda, who will launch a small event. In it, you will need to reflect several waves of attacking mobs, and then the rarnik we need will come out. The chance of dropping a mount from it is quite low.

Location: Bastion

Solar Dancer. (Flying mount)
This sun-covered trotter prances selflessly on the rays of light.

The mount can be obtained after defeating the horse of the same name. But to do this is not so easy, because the horse flies on the edge in the air in the very south of the location. First you will need to sit on this horse. to get it you need to get a cloud glider. You can buy it at the auction or make it yourself if you have chosen the Kyrian covenant, passed the testing stages and received a drawing for the manufacture of a glider. With the help of this glider, it will be possible to reach and saddle the horse, but before that, you will need to receive a blessing from the memorial next to the cliff. When saddling a horse, you should not relax, because as soon as you sit on it, you will be greatly damaged by its radiance. It will be necessary to press an additional button as quickly as possible and pacify the horse. As soon as he calms down, he will stop damaging you, and the horse will land on the ground. And now you can talk to him and join the fight. After lowering his health to 10%, he will run away, and you will receive a reward. The chance of getting a mount is not guaranteed.

The honor of riding this steed is given only to those who prove themselves against the combined might of the reincarnated.

The mount is obtained from the Cache of the Ascended chest, which appears after defeating the Ascendant Council, consisting of 5 rares. Calling the council will require striking 5 bells located throughout the Bastion within 5 minutes, so it is worth doing this in a group or cooperating with other players in the location. If everything is done correctly, the message will appear in the chat: “The Council of the Ascended has assembled! They'll be arriving at Aspirant's Awakening in a minute!". They have a common HP and as soon as their health drops to 15%, they fly away, leaving the chest we need.

Reward for level 20 Renown of the Venthyr covenant.

Combat armor made of gravestone. (Ground mount)
The representatives of the new brood of loyal gargons know no fear and are ready to carry the most reliable associates of Prince Renatal into the decisive battle against the Jailer.
Reward for level 40 Renown of the Venthyr covenant.

Sylessa's battle armor. (Ground mount)
Silessa fought valiantly alongside her master during the great invasion of the forces of Light, and after the battle, he put her to guard his vault. Rumor has it that it can only be reached through a mirror transport network.
The mount is obtained from the Forgotten Chest, which will become available after opening the 3rd level of restored mirrors. With this level, you will receive a mirror repair kit, with which you can repair broken mirrors throughout the Revendreth location, and after passing through them, you will see chests that can drop a mount.

Wargargon of Desire. (Ground mount)
The Countess keeps several ornate gargons in her stalls and personally trains them. Many of her rivals, seduced by their beauty, have learned the hard way that they are deadly.
The mount is obtained from the Countess's Gift Chest, which can be obtained by completing tasks in the Ash Court, a Venthyr Covenant trait. And to receive gifts, you need to earn the level Best Friend to the Countess.

Hope Crusher's Harness. (Ground mount)
Only available to players with the Venthyra covenant.
Once the Hopebreaker was a faithful companion of the lord of the house Brierbane - but then attacked his master and his retinue. Now members of House Brierbane tell horror tales of a dark gargon that attacks the Venthyr in the dark recesses of the Chalice Quarter.

The mount is obtained from the Hope Crusher rare. It can only drop to players who have chosen the Vetir covenant. Also, the rarnik itself is quite strong, so it is best to kill him along with other players.

Mounts for achievements and PvP

Ravenous Devourer. (Ground mount)
The Devourers are believed to come from the Between, a largely unexplored space between the worlds of the Dark Lands.
It is a reward for completing the meta-achievement Glory of the Hero of the Shadowlands, completed in 8 new dungeons.

Squealer from the fortifications. (Flying mount)
Nesting in the fortifications of Castle Nathria, these huge bats serve as extra sentries and learn to attack approaching enemies from the air.
It is a reward for completing the Glory of the Nathria Raider meta-achievement in the Nathria Castle raid.

Corridor horror. (Ground mount)
The Jailer's loyal dogs roam the corridors, trying to pick up the trail of runaway souls.
Given as a reward for completing the 8th floor of the Winding Corridors in the Tower of the Damned Torghast dungeon.

Sin-tainted herald of death. (Flying mount)
Created from the sins of countless prisoners of the devilish dungeon. Only those who can handle such a burden will hold his reins.
Seasonal mount for the Shadowlands Season 1 Keymaster achievement, which requires you to complete 8 new 15+ Mythic Keystone dungeons within the allotted time.

Deathbringer Bonewing. (Flying mount)
One of the few creatures to be feared more than the Deathbringer's Bonewing is the Deathbringer himself, riding him.
The mount is a reward for the Deathbringer achievement, which requires you to complete several PvP achievements in the open world in each location of the Shadowlands. Additionally, the title attached to the mount is Deathbringer <Name>.

Sinful Gladiator's Soul Eater. (Flying mount)
This mount has a bad habit of feasting on souls that have not atoned for their sins in Revendreth.
This mount will be available to Shadowlands Season 1 gladiators, and for this you will need to successfully play at least 50 battles in 3v3 arenas with a rating of 2400+.

Ferocious fighting spider. (Ground mount)
If your formidable Horde Roar doesn't impress your opponents, mount a giant spider. It will definitely get them through.
For Horde players only. Seasonal reward for victories in arenas and RBG if your rating is over 1400. You can track the progress of obtaining a mount on the Honor tab (H) in the Rating section. It is noteworthy that the legs of the Horde spider are painted green, and the traditional red color is that of the Alliance spider.

Ferocious fighting spider. (Ground mount)
If your Alliance bravery doesn't impress your opponents, mount a giant spider. It will definitely get them through.
Only for Alliance players. Seasonal reward for victories in arenas and RBG if your rating is over 1400. You can track the progress of obtaining a mount on the Honor tab (H) in the Rating section.

Mounts in the dungeons

Bonetooth's Reins. (Flying mount)
Amart Reaper singled out Bonetooth among other abominations of Bonetusk for its exorbitant appetite. He even forgave her when, because of this appetite, another experiment started by a cruel commander broke down.
Can drop with a small chance from Nalthor the Cryomancer in the Deadly Feast dungeon (Mythic only), as well as in the chest for completing an Mythic+ key.

slippery snake. (Flying mount)
This mysterious creature lurks within the mucus reservoirs of the Plague Cascades. Nobody knows where it came from.
This mount will drop from the creature of the same name in the Plague Cascades dungeon, but it is not yet known how it will be possible to summon it. It will probably stack similarly to the Letter Eater from N'zoth's vision. But most are inclined to believe that the discovery of this mount is a secret.

hatching mounts

Three new mounts can be obtained by hatching Necroskat eggs every 3 days.
The egg can be obtained with a small chance from Gift of the Aspiring, which is a reward from the Covenant Summon quests in Maldraxxus. Each egg drops 100% one mount, however they can drop again.

  • Swollen Necroskat. (Flying mount)
Necroscats of Maldraxxus often flock around the huge decaying mushrooms that grow on this world.
  • ➤Infected Necroskat. (Flying mount)
Necroscats lay their eggs in the folds and cavities that form in rotting molds.
  • ➤Blight Necroskat. (Flying mount)
When a necroskat hatches from an egg, the spores scatter in all directions and cover everything around with an unpleasant coating.

Mount for buying Shadowlands

And there is one more mount that will be available to all players who have bought the Shadowlands add-on. This mount was Ancient Traveler.

Not all ancients are interested in history and conflicts - some just want to see the world! A large tree-traveler, rustling foliage, invites you to climb on it and go on a long hike. Just hold on tight to the branches!

He was chosen by the players by voting from 4 candidates. At the moment, the model of this mount has not yet been presented to the community. According to the developers, it will be automatically added to the collection bookmark of all players who have activated Shadowlands on their account. But this will only happen in the 1st quarter of 2021.
