How to get Stone Dust, Stone Bricks and Whetstone in V Rising

Stone Dust, Stone Bricks and Whetstones will very quickly become your best friends in V Rising once you upgrade your castle, but how do you get all these resources?
The action takes place in a universe shrouded in shadows, V rising turns the player into a newly created vampire who aims for world domination.
However, painting the idyllic countryside red is only half the battle, as you will have to manage your lust for blood and amass resources unhindered in order to expand your reign of terror. With seemingly mundane items like leather making a difference, stone bricks, stone dust, and weatherstone are also some of the game's most important merchandise.
Stone Dust is a key ingredient in the formation of a Grindstone, which is in turn required to create a Grinder, which produces Stone Bricks. However, given that you can only get stone dust by crafting bricks, the whole process is a bit confusing. So here is a rundown on how to get Rock Dust, Rock Bricks and a Whetstone in V Rising to save you from tearing your hair out.
How to get the Whetstone and Grinder in V Rising
As you can imagine, stone bricks are essential to expanding your base in V Rising - it's a literal brick castle, after all.
To create stone bricks, you will need to build grinder next to your Castle Heart. Unlike the tannery, it can be built right after you start your adventure and requires:
- 8 plates – Obtained through the sawmill
- 4 Copper ingots - obtained by adding ingots to the furnace
- 4 grinding stones - see below
Grinding Stones are a key ingredient in many of the different structures you can build in the game (including the Furnace you can craft them from later), but they're not exactly easy to find.
There are two main methods to do this, one that requires a little research and the other that pits you against the boss.
- As you explore you will find bandit camps and other POIs on the map. Defeat the inhabitants and take areas for yourself can often earn you Whetstone, so just hover over an area to show what rewards you can loot.
- If you defeated Gunsmith Grayson (boss level 27, whose trace can be identified at your Blood Altar), you can create a Whetstone in the Furnace, using 1 copper ingot and 12 stone dust.
How to get stone bricks and stone dust in V Rising
Once you've built your grinder (no easy task, we know), you can start building stone bricks:
- Add 12 rough stones into the grinder
- This will give you 1 stone brick and 1 stone dust as a by-product.
