How to defeat Morgott, King of Omens boss in Elden Ring

Morgott, King of OmensMorgott, The Omen King) is the big boss, the self-proclaimed "Last of all kings". This is the main boss that players must defeat in order to progress through the story and get a shard and an achievement to boot.

Godric the Golden, Piodiga's twin, Mikella and Malenia, General Radan, Praetor Ricard, Lunar Prices of Ranny... […] Write on your meager grave: “Cut down by King Morgott! The last of all kings."

Elden Ring is home to many terrifying bosses, but one of the most intimidating and challenging is Morgott, King of OmensMorgott, The Omen King). He is very similar in manner to Margit, and the new form uses many of these attacks along with a few new ones.

Location of Morgott, The Omen King boss in Elden Ring

Once in the capital Leindell in Elden Ring, you will have to face not one, but two bosses. One of them is Godfrey, the First Lord, whose boss fight, even if mandatory, serves its main purpose as preparation for the upcoming challenge - the boss fight against Morgott, the Omen King.

How to defeat the Morgott, The Omen King boss in Elden Ring

The main strategy here is to just keep your distance: call Melina before the fight starts and ask her to take the lead in the first phase of the fight. She is amazingly strong, taking many attacks before Morgott kills her. While he focuses his attacks on the NPCs, your job will be to slash and attack from behind, landing a few hits before retreating again. When Morgott unleashes a hail of blades on you, stay at your preferred distance from the boss and the attacked area for as long as the long attack animation is in effect. Somewhere in the middle of the boss's health bar, he will sit down on his knee, start coughing and start a firestorm around him. At this point, it's best to stay away from him!

The second half of the fight includes two small variations. The first (after the boss coughs) are pools of fire scattered on the ground that will boil and cause you a lot of damage if you walk over them. The second is a whip-like attack that can wipe you out in one hit - make sure you always have full health so you don't die.

Moreover, he starts throwing a spear of light at you, Margott may try to hit you with a running attack instead of jumping on you. You will still need to dodge, but roll towards him, and not in your direction. Thus, you will always be ready for a counterattack.

If this attack is giving you too much trouble, it might be worth not summoning the spirit during the first phase (which should be easier to master on your own), but during the second phase so that you have more time to land a few shots after an attack similar to whip.

With this tactic, you should be able to defeat Morgott quite easily and get three different rewards!
