Intel is revealing details about its flagship processor, the 9th Gen i10900 11K, including a release window.

The Consumer Electronics Show, commonly referred to as CES, is one of the largest annual technology trade shows. All the major players in the industry are coming up with the latest gadgets. Last year at CES Sony showed the logo of the PlayStation 5 at its press conference, kicking off a year of slow next-gen console announcements. This year at CES, Intel is offering more information about its i9 11900K processor, including a release window in 2021.

What the full new lineup will look like remains to be revealed, but Intel provided some details on what the 9th generation i11 flagship model will have. The i9 11900K will be an 8-core, 16-thread chipset with an increased clock speed of up to 5,3GHz. The chip will support DDR4-3200 RAM with 20 PCIe CPU slots, allowing users to add on their Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card or anything else they might need to boost their PC's speed.

Among all the specification data, Intel has revealed that the flagship Core i9-11900K processor will be available in the first quarter of 2021. Intel hopes to make a big splash in 2021 after how AMD's desktop processor market share surpassed Intel's for the first time in 15 years. Intel dominated the market for some time before the gap began to narrow starting in 2017. AMD's Ryzen 5000 series has caused a lot of hype, and now it's up to Intel to take on the new Core i9 "Rocket Lake" processor.

Apple recently ditched Intel chips in its computer lineup, and all new MacBook Airs, Pros, and Mac Minis feature their own M1 chips. Apple is moving forward with plans to continue developing its processors, so it looks like Intel has lost a major customer in this regard.

Despite being locked out of the AMD competition, Intel motherboards got a good boost after being unlocked. Smart Access memory features found in AMD's line of graphics cards RX 6000 series. Designed for AMD's own Ryzen 5000 processor, this feature was tested on the Intel i9-10900K and resulted in frame rate increases of up to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla by 14%.

Intel is looking to start 2021 right, and its flagship Rocket Lake processor is definitely capable of handling the most demanding CPU tasks.
