Felwinter's lie, weapons from Destiny 1 may be making a comeback in Destiny 2 despite mixed reception of the shotgun by players.
Event Guardian Games now officially in Destiny 2 and comes with a friendly competitive spirit and some sweet loot. In addition to the latest event, the team at Bungie also talked about what's on the horizon, which means that insiders immediately set to work to discover the secrets hidden in the latest update. As a result, information came to light confirming the previous leak about Felwinter's Lie.
What makes Felwinter's lies controversial?
The Felwinter's Lie is a legendary shotgun that players first equipped in the first Destiny, and until that point, it was not returned in the shooter sequel. This shotgun was controversial because it was very powerful. Those players who didn't really like it because of its insane level of precision and scope hated it, calling it over the top. Players can also make this weapon even more powerful with the right perk, which will increase the already impressive range of this weapon.
Another reason it was met with a mixed reception was that it was difficult to get hold of by those who didn't have the time - or the inclination - to lose sight of what they had overlooked, forcing them to go up against someone who had this shotgun equipped. This weapon was a source of fear and frustration, although if it's that hard to get it, it must have an absolutely insane amount of power - otherwise, it's just a normal weapon.
When does Felwinter's Lie return?
We don't know when the gun will return in Destiny 2, but Felwinter's Lie has been added in the new quest add-on files, and the entries were found in the latest game update that came out on Tuesday. A Shot Pack was also found, a perk that previously made the gun more accurate and more effective, especially in terms of insta kills and long range kills.
Destiny 2 players have been working on frames for a variety of weapons in the game, and this structure also applies to the Shot pack. Instead of a perk in its usual sense, it will be implemented as a framed design instead of the regular slot that Felwinter fans are used to.

A redditor took to the Destiny 2 forums to share Felwinter's Lie files in addition to a new quest called Lying. The official description is labeled "Visit Anna on Mars to get the quest. This is the first quest to begin the hunt for Felwinter."
While the filenames have been found within the game itself, the return of this legendary shotgun has not yet been technically confirmed by Bungie and we don't have an image to see what it will look like in terms of aesthetic updates or if it will be a copy of the shotgun from Destiny 1. Either way, it's safe to say that Bungie is continuing their constant updates to keep Guardians tuned and engaged.
