Destiny 2 - Stasis Hunter: Revenant in Beyond Light

guardian

Let's take a look at the upcoming stasis subclasses in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, with the Hunter Revenant next in line.

Welcome to another installment in the Spotlight: Stasis series, which takes a look at the new power through the eyes of each of the three Guardian classes in Destiny 2. Previous articles have been about warlocks - casters of shadows и titans - monsters. The last article in the series will talk about the Revenant hunter subclass.

The Revenant Hunter is the ninja archetype.

Hunter will be the embodiment of the idea of slowing down the battle with the power of Stasis. It all starts with Revenant's melee attack called Baneblade. It throws a deadly stasis shuriken into the thick of the fight that bounces off surfaces and enemies, slowing and damaging enemies. If two of these shurikens are hit, the target is instantly frozen.

By fully charging the ability bar, Revenant can unleash the full lethal force of Silence and Flurry on the enemy. Named after the pair of "kama" blades that the hunter summons, the super ability consists of two actions: each of them uses one of the blades. The first blade, Silence, explodes as soon as it hits an enemy, freezing nearby enemies. The second blade, Flurry, first pierces the surface (or an enemy) before exploding, creating a stasis storm that tracks nearby enemies, slowing and damaging them.

What's true for the Shadowcaster and Behemoth is also true for the Revenant: players who choose this subclass will be able to customize Stasis's abilities using aspect and fragment slots (more on this in the article on Shadow casters). For example, the slow dodge aspect, which is only available to hunters, will allow the Revenant to temporarily slow nearby enemies after each dodge.

WHAT DOES "BOOM!"

In addition to the stasis abilities of a specific subclass, a Stasis Guardian of any class will be able to select one of the following stasis grenades:

Ice Grenade - Upon contact with the ground, instantly forms a wall of Stasis crystals, trapping nearby enemies within the crystals. These grenades can be used in a variety of ways, both to freeze enemies and to create cover. When broken, the crystals explode and deal area damage, hitting all nearby enemies.

Brittle Ice Grenade - Upon contact with the ground or upon hitting an enemy, this grenade releases a wave of Stasis energy that sweeps across the ground in the direction of the nearest enemy, freezing them and then searching for the next nearby enemy. One such grenade can freeze up to three enemies.

Shadowfield Grenade creates a powerful stasis field that, when formed, draws enemies into itself. As soon as the opponents are inside, the field slows them down, and those who do not have time to get out freeze in place.

The three new grenades are a great demonstration that Stasis has the potential to turn the tide of battle in "Beyond the Light". The ability to slow down and freeze the enemy has obvious advantages for players, so the developers have tried to foresee all the factors that Stasis affects the battle in both PvE and PvP, including the duration of the freeze, as well as how often you can use it.

Equally exciting is the ability to create new geometry with Stasis. If timed correctly, the crystal formations from the Glacial Grenade explosion can also be used as platforms. Players will use the new power - both in the form of grenades and superpowers - to reach hard-to-reach locations or create new viewing angles.

The ability to control Stasis will be an unprecedented change in Destiny 2. This is a new look at the elements, when using which the path to victory lies through control over the enemy and the pace of the battle, and not through brute force and damage. And fragments and aspects allow players to decide for themselves how they will use Stasis.
