All Elden Ring runes, where to find and how to use them

Runes are the main currency of Elden Ring, used to level up or buy items from vendors. Our guide will expand your knowledge of runes and how to use them!

What are runes in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring has 7 Great Runes. To get each, you will have to defeat one of the Elden ring shard keepers. To complete the game, you will need to collect at least two Great Runes. All the demigods of the Interearth fall into the Death Note: the children of Queen Marika, the serpent Ricard and the twins from the line of Omens, Morgott and Mog. Each rune gives bonuses from the strength of the Elden ring and affects the characteristics of the character. 

Just defeating the boss and picking up the rune is not enough. The shard must be activated at the very top of one of the sacred towers. Rune buffs stop working after each death of the character, they need to be charged with a runic arc. We tell you which runes are the best, and what you need to do to use them in your build.

Greater Rune of Godric

Great rune of Godric's shard master.
Her blessing increases all stats.

This great rune is called the "Ring of Support," for it is at the center of the Ring of Elden.

Godfrey, lord of Elden, and his golden-eyed descendants were the first demigods.

Location

Dropped upon death Godric the Hundred Hands in the Storm Veil Castle region.

To use a rune, you must first bless it by visiting the Sacred Tower of Graveyard. You can do this in the same location where the boss is located, in Storm Veil Castle. Standing with your back to the main gate inside the castle, walk a little up the central alley and then turn right. You will come to a long dilapidated bridge, ending in the tower you need.

The portal to the tower is at the end of the first surviving slab. Immediately after your arrival, stone colossi will wake up, which, with proper skill, will not cause you trouble. They are slow and clumsy. The long-range archer-colossus, while trying to hit you, generally shoots at your own, stunning them and dropping them to the ground for your critical attacks.

In order to avoid the arrows of the archer-colossus, when approaching it, it is worth sticking to the stone columns. The arrows won't hit you.

Activation

To activate the rune and take advantage of its benefits, rest at any place of grace and select the "Great Runes" line. In the window that opens, place the desired rune in the slot. After that, use the Runic Arc. The effect of the rune will last until the first death.

Effect

The Great Rune of Godric allows you to increase all of your character's stats by 5.

Greater Rune of Radan

Greater rune of the shard master Radan Starbane. Her blessing increases maximum HP and stamina.

The demigod Radan is one of the children of Rennala and Radagon. After Radagon married Marika, Radan became the queen's stepson.

The right side of the rune blazes with fire, driving away the red rot.

Location

Dropped by Boss upon death Radan Beach Stars in the location of the Castle of the Red Mane.

To use a rune, you must first bless it by visiting the Sacred Tower of the Starry Wastes. The tower is located in the northeast of the place of grace "West of the Dragon Mound". You can climb it only along the outer wall due to ladders, which can be reached on horseback through large tree roots.

Effect

The Greater Rune of Radan allows you to significantly increase your HP, OK, and Stamina.

Greater Rune of Morgott

Greater Rune of Shard Master Morgott. Her blessing significantly increases the maximum HP.

This great rune is at the base of the Ring of Elden.

Without a doubt, the king of omens is a son of the golden family and the rightful ruler of Leindell.

Dropped upon death Morgott, King of Omens in the location Leindell, the capital of the kingdom.

The passage to it is located in the eastern part of the capital, where the lift to the Giants' Peaks region is located. In the lift room, turn onto the southeast bridge for the Dire Twins boss fight. Effect

Increases maximum HP by 25%. The effect is stronger than the Great Rune of Godric and the Great Rune of Radan.

Greater Rune of Ricard

Greater rune of the shard master Rikard. Her blessing restores HP after killing an enemy.

The demigod Ricard is one of the children of Renalla and Radagon. After Radagon married Marika, Ricard became the queen's stepson.

Having fed himself to the unholy snake, Rickard lost everything: both the great rune and the remnants of his conscience.

Location

Dropped upon death by the God-Eating Serpent boss at the end of Vulcan Manor. There are two ways to get to the boss:

1. Fast way. Complete 3 quests by Tanith, Queen of Vulcan Manor to kill phantoms. Upon completion of the quest, she will immediately teleport you to the entrance to the boss arena.
2.  ??? Long way. Go through the entire location on your own to the way gates at the end that teleport to the boss. In order to get out of the estate into the city, open the illusory wall in one of the rooms.

To use the rune, you must first bless it by visiting the Sacred Tower of West Altus. The only way to get to the tower is through a sealed mine, the entrance to which is located near the southwestern passage to the capital. Head down to the lake directly east of the Great Wall of the Ghostwood Boon, then turn north and move until you hit a sheer cliff. There must be an entrance to the mine somewhere around here.

Go through the mine and kill the final boss, behind which there will be an exit to the tower.

Effect

The Greater Rune of Ricard restores lost HP from killing enemies.

Greater Rune of Mog

Greater Rune of the Mog Shard Master. Bestows the blessing of blood on summoned phantoms and the vision of a greater rune on a successful invasion.

Mog and Morgott are twins, and their runes are remarkably similar.

But Mog's rune is stained with cursed blood: all because of his devout love for the vile subterranean swamp where he was born.

Dropped by Boss upon death Mog, Lord of Blood in location Mogvin Palace.

Greater Rune of Malenia

The Great Rune of the Mistress of the Malenia Shard. Blessing this Decayed Rune reduces the effectiveness of Flask of Crimson Tears healing.

The rebellious spirit of the Valkyrie has also been transferred to her rune: attack immediately after being wounded to partially replenish HP.

Malenia is the daughter of Queen Marika and Radagon, so her rune is the most sacred of all.

Location

Dropped upon death Malenia, Blade of Mikella in the Elfael region, the pillar of the Holy Tree.

To use a rune, you must first bless it by visiting the Isolated Tower, which rises in the middle of the inland sea. There are two paths leading to the tower:

• Path number 1. Teleport to the place of grace "Divine Bridge", located in Leindell, the capital of the kingdom. After moving there, run forward through the passage and interact with the portal on the left side.
• Path number 2. Open the chest located at the top of the Tower of Return, located in the southwest of the Weeping Isle. As a result, you will be transported to another part of the capital. Climb the stairs forward, go past the sleeping golem and turn left. There you will see a portal. Interact with him to get to the entrance to the tower.

Effect

The Greater Rune of Malenia allows you to recover some of your health from physical damage dealt, but in return slightly reduces the effectiveness of your Flask of Crimson Tears.

Greater Rune of the Neverborn

Perfects those who are born again.

Rennala's children are sickly creatures that don't live long.

Location

Dropped after defeating a boss Rennala Full Moon in the location of the Academy of Raya Lukaria.

This rune does not need to be blessed. The player gets it already active.

Effect

The Great Rune of Neverborn allows the player to reset and redistribute stats, as well as change (???) gender through rebirth.
