Moxxi's Heist Of The Handsome Jackpot has been officially revealed as the first campaign expansion for Borderlands 3 launching December 19th, and you can take a closer look at this casino raider caper courtesy of the Borderlands Show. During episode 3 of Borderlands, regular hosts Greg Miller and Fran Mirabella of Kinda Funny joined Gearbox studio head Randy Pitchford to delve into the details of Borderlands 3's first DLC campaign.

This new adventure takes place in a beautiful jackpot, a brilliant casino to match its now deceased owner's massive ego, and sees you trying to reach the core of the casino and take full control of the station. This is easier said than done: the place is crawling with several models of Hyperion loading bots that will try to kill you on the spot, as well as crazy marauders who have been caught aboard the beautiful jackpot since Jack's death.

The Handsome Jackpot is quite possibly the most colorful gambling destination in the galaxy, with neon signs, slot machines and golden statues everywhere. The finishing touch is a huge hologram of the most handsome Jack, as he posthumously dominates the casino of his own creation. Only it's not exactly his creation: Moxxi shared her casino idea with Jack when they were dating, only for Jack to steal her dreams when they break up. This elaborate heist is Moxxi's way of getting revenge on her ex for good.

Moxxi'S Heist of the Beautiful Jackpot is set for characters that are at least level 13, but will be scaled so that higher level vault hunters can still expect a challenge and correspondingly powerful loot. In order to access this additional campaign content, you will need to complete Borderlands 5 main story episode 3, which unlocks Sanctuary III. "which is great, you can treat it like it's a brand new campaign extended to the end of the game," Randy Pitchford said during the Borderlands show. -Maybe you're just getting started? you can start a new game, and boom, it's just like a side quest." Dismantling on Maliwan Blacksite and Mayhem 4 are being introduced in the next patch, giving veteran Vault Hunters more ways to test their skills. The Maliwan Blacksite Dismantling is a new raid-style challenge set up for coordinated cooperative parties of up to four max level characters, with limited respawn to make your opposition much more lethal. Mayhem 4 allows you to further increase the difficulty of Mayhem mode, eliminates negative modifiers, and has its own exclusive batch of legendary gear that will only drop when Mayhem 4 is enabled.

In addition, a target dummy with a very familiar mask has been installed at the Sanctuary III firing range so you can test your weapons without putting yourself in danger, and new vending machines have been deployed across the galaxy. All bosses will have special loot pools so you can farm coveted legendary items more efficiently, and last but not least, the maximum Banking space will be upgraded from 50 to 300 slots! All vault hunters will start with 20 slots instead of 10, and SDUs that increase your bank size can be purchased from Marcus aboard Sanctuary III using an increasing amount of in-game cash.
