Ana from Overwatch Has a "100% Broken" Hitbox
A group of Overwatch players have released a new video showing Ana's hitbox no longer matching her hero model while moving.
Onlookers are no stranger to these kinds of problems, Ash's hitbox was certainly weird when it was released, and Hanzo has had chronic problems with it throughout the game's history.
However, Ana's glitch seems to be somewhat unique in that it only "breaks" her hitbox when she is moving forward.
Russian Overwatch player DimoshaTV posted a video of the error on YouTube and immediately said it was not a "server or ping issue".
“I noticed that my shots didn’t hit Ana, so I checked her hitbox while she was moving,” he wrote, and, of course, the video proves it.
While Ana is standing still, her hitbox behaves normally, but as she leans forward, it doesn't receive messages and doesn't follow its character model.
Aimed shooting, where her head appears to be right on the gun while running, doesn't even register hits until you start moving to where she would be if she were stationary.
On the left or right side, this makes it much harder for Ana to hit the target and allows her to be killed for hit scans and sniper heroes that rely on accurate shots.
Right now, to damage Ana, the best idea might be to aim just above where her head appears when she runs, since her critical hit box seems to be behind her head and on her upper back.
The good news is that if Ana is looking through her scope while moving, the hitbox should behave normally and register hits as it should.
Currently, the hitbox issue is not listed in the list of known Overwatch issues for the current patch, but hopefully the developers will notice and fix Captain Amari to register hits like any other hero.
