The next Valorant agent is on the horizon. While Agent 22 has yet to be officially revealed by Riot, here's everything we know about the upcoming character.
The list of Valorant agents continues to expand at a rapid pace. While the first-person shooter launched with just 10 agents, players now have a plethora of options to choose from.
Not much time has passed since the appearance harbor in Episode 5, which was definitely a breath of fresh air for the players. However, the Indian agent owning the water was a bit "inconclusive" according to the pros, and now many are looking at what's in store for us next.
With that said, here's everything we know about Valorant's next agent, Agent 22, including a possible release date.
Valorant Agent 22: Rumors, leaks and teasers
So far, little is known about Valorant's next agent. However, according to a prominent ValorLeaks insider, the new agent currently in development is codenamed "SmokeDancer".
While codenames are generally not that many, the title suggests that the next agent might have the ability to counter smoke or other abilities that block line of sight.
Additionally, the latest State of the Agents update from Riot developer John "MEMEMEMEME" Goskiki has given the community some insight into what's in store for players in 2023.
According to the developer, fans should expect a total of three new agents this year. Among them, Riot announced that we will at least get a new Initiator and Guardian. However, they do not reveal which class the third Agent will fall into.
State of the Agents also gave fans a subtle teaser. As usual, the next agent's leg was revealed. While it's obviously not much, it looks like Agent 22 might be arriving with a companion next to them.
When will the next Valorant agent be released?
Agent 22 release date not officially confirmed Riot. However, based on a typical release schedule, Agent 22 should be released in Episode 6 Act 3, which is expected to start sometime in late April.
However, one thing is clear: Agent 22 will air on March 4th ahead of the VCT LOCK//IN Grand Final. The opening will be followed by a show match with Tarik and Leonardo "frttt" Braz, who will play with a new agent. Tarik and frttt will select other content creators and VCT professionals for this one-of-a-kind show match.
