Youtuber Recreated Among Us in 3D Using Unreal Engine
While the hugely popular multiplayer game Among Us is known for its simple gameplay and cartoonish design, one YouTuber has recreated the game in Unreal Engine on PC with absolutely insane graphics.
Among Us has a very unique art style. While the gameplay itself is fun, its cartoony design is extremely recognizable and most gamers will likely be able to easily identify it just by looking at one of the character models.
But what if you could play the popular multiplayer game with incredibly realistic graphics and a suitable first-person view?
One YouTuber named Fat Dino demonstrates what it could be like in a new video. In fact, he recreated a significant portion of the Skeld map from Among Us using Unreal Engine on PC.
Fat Dino used a free pack of sci-fi models on the Unreal Engine marketplace to help recreate the map, while the astronaut costumes and character models appeared to have been created from scratch.
The result is simply incredible. Not only does the game look insanely realistic with new graphics and an altered perspective, it also ultimately keeps the core concept of Among Us intact.
In addition to explaining how he created the game, Fat Dino also showed off the project's raw multiplayer gameplay. One of the most hilarious moments comes when he plays as an impostor and kills another player. Instead of having a full animation, the character just seems to be cut in half and falls to the ground without any fanfare.
Overall, this game is insanely impressive and, with the exception of the right side of the map, seems like a perfect recreation of Skeld's locations.
The game is currently not available for download. According to Dino, this is due to the fact that not only will he have to host a dedicated server for this, but it is also illegal. Even though they seem like a laid back team, it's easy to see that Innersloth's developers don't like it very much, as it's basically just a re-creation of their game with a different perspective and texture pack.
However, we hope fans can somehow get their hands on this game because it would be a shame if it never saw the light of day.
