Everything we know about 23 Valorant agents: release date, first teasers, details
The developers of Valorant continue to lure us in with the new 23 Agent, and while it's too early to draw final conclusions, we have already learned some details about its upcoming appearance, including the estimated release time, teasers and rumors.
After the release of the latest Gekko agent in Valorant, the developers are preparing to please fans with another new character. The Dev Diary recently confirmed the arrival of a new game mode, Team Death, as well as teasers for two new agents coming in 2023.
So, here's everything we know about Agent 23, including its estimated release time, teasers, alleged origins, and more.
23 Valorant Agent: Release Time
It is believed that 23 Agent will be the next Agent released in the game. However, the exact date of its appearance has not yet been confirmed.
Riot usually introduces new agents during the grand finals of VCT tournaments. For example, Gekko and Fade were announced during VCT LOCK//IN and VCT Masters Reykjavik 2022 respectively.
Considering that VCT Masters Tokyo 2023 is already on the way, there is a possibility that the announcement of Agent 23 could happen during this tournament. The final week of VCT Masters Tokyo is scheduled for June 21st, and it's likely we'll get an official announcement around that time, and maybe even an exhibition match to show off the first public agent game mechanic.
Valorant Agent 23: Abilities
The developers have already shared several teasers revealing what abilities and role Agent 23 will have. He will belong to the Guardian class, making him the fifth Guardian in the Valorant character lineup.
As for specific abilities, nothing has been confirmed yet. However, the developers hint that Agent 23 will be able to "stop you in your path and pull you to him." While it's unclear, it could be something like the Lifeweaver character's Lifeweaver ability in Overwatch 2, which pulls allies in range towards it.
Valorent Agent 23: Alleged origins and lore
Agent 23 from Valorant continues to generate interest and speculation from players. A teaser image provided by Riot in the original Dev Diary had fans speculating about the character's possible origins and history based on the image and hints we're getting from messages at the shooting range.
The image shows a cup of coffee and a plate of waffles on the left side. This led players to speculate that the agent might be of Belgian origin, as Belgium is known for its waffles.
However, there have been mentions of Norway in recent reports at the shooting range, as well as hints of the brown material that covers the waffles. Some players have noticed that it could be brunost or brown cheese commonly served with bread in Norway.
If these assumptions are correct, then Agent 23 will become the second Scandinavian character in Valorant after Breach from Sweden. Perhaps their knowledge and connections will be intertwined in the game.
That's all we know about the upcoming Agent 23 for now. As more details emerge in the near future, we'll be sure to keep you updated. Stay tuned here to learn more about the new character and his role in the world of Valorant.
