Inspired by GTA Glitchpunk Puts You in the Place of an Android Bounty Hunter
Glitchpunk is a new top-down action game inspired by the original GTA in a cyberpunk world.
Glitchpunk is a brand new top-down action game from developer Dark Lord that lets you play as a bounty hunter. Filled with shootouts, futuristic neon, car chases and hacks, Glitchpunk is actually inspired by the original top-down Grand Theft Auto. But it takes place in a dystopian future where you play as an android gifted with a special trait called a glitch. This allows you to go against your agenda, and instead of hunting down targets, you set out to destroy the tyrannical governments of the game's post-nuclear world.
However, what you do is entirely up to you. you can earn money to improve yourself as you navigate through seedy alleys and neon skyscrapers, dealing with equally dopey drugs and technology-obsessed gangs.
In this exclusive Glitchpunk trailer, debuting on the Future Games Show, we get a fantastic glimpse of what's to come with the game by looking at a short mission snippet from the game's second episode. Three factions are at war here - an anarchist biker gang, a few brainwashed junkies, and worker androids - and if you're not fast enough, the police and other bounty hunters will soon get in your way. But complete the mission and you'll earn much-needed cash to spend on new modules for new hacks, abilities, or passive buffs. The story also features a branching narrative, which will mean plenty of reasons to replay the game to see all it has to offer when it arrives later this year.
