Untamed Isles - New MMORPG Combining Pokémon and Cryptocurrency.
MMORPGs have been springing up like mushrooms lately, and this is due to two factors (besides the WoW crisis, of course): Kickstarter and cryptocurrencies.
Thanks to crowdfunding platforms, new projects regularly appear. In addition, many of them want to base their monetization on the blockchain and NFT tokens, thanks to which players will be able to earn money by selling items from the game. An example of such a project is Ember Sword and... Untamed Isles!
In short, Untamed Isles is a Pokémon MMORPG paired with cryptocurrency, which is pretty close to Temtem . Why? Both projects offer many similar solutions, and they debuted on Kickstarter, where they were funded. The new Untamed Isles took 140K bucks, and at the time of this writing, they have already raised 163K . The end of the collection is still far away, because it is 22 days, so this amount is likely to increase significantly. Moreover, the plot of the game is based on stories.
What do we know about the project itself? "Untamed Isles is a turn-based monster-hunting and taming MMORPG" is the simplest description of the game. As part of the game, we will meet other players, catch creatures, breed them, train them and take part in turn-based battles. There will be housing, collection of items, raids and the ability to sell almost everything (exactly 95%). How?
Untamed Isles will use blockchain technology and will allow you to turn items from the game into NFT tokens that we sell on any auction, thus turning them into real money. The developers guarantee that in this way we will be able to trade not only creatures or ordinary items, but also titles obtained for various actions. However, the creators point out that their “play to earn” model does not imply that a player MUST use cryptocurrency/blockchain technology to play. Without this item, Untamed Isles will still be fully accessible.
The project will offer the ability to combine creatures into new species, as well as offer 15 types/elements. Creatures are composed of seven elements, allowing for "nearly endless combinations". New creatures created this way will inherit different stats/genes as well as different types, so breeding will be an important part of the game. Added to this are the shiny/glowing versions of the creatures here referred to as "alpha".
We will only be able to keep 6 creatures with us, and the fights will focus on 1v1 fights. In some elements of the game, there will be 2v2 and 3v3 modes, allowing cooperation and competition between teams of players.
Untamed Isles will offer an open world, dungeons, standard trading, as well as PvP and open voice communication. The game will first appear on PC, but will eventually be available on consoles, including mobile devices. Cross-play is planned. Open early access is scheduled for December 2021, it will be available on Steam.
