Fantasy meets Borderlands on a grand scale in Tiny Tina's Wonderland, where you can experience a world full of dungeons and dragons with signature Borderlands charm and style. Release date? March 25, 2022.
Showcasing tons of fantasy elements mixed with Borderlands elements, the trailer gives off a chaotic classic fantasy vibe, definitely recognizable as a Borderlands game - but with an extreme Dungeons & Dragons twist, down to the character sprites and small figurines. The trailer features dozens of classic fantasy looks and concepts, including skeletons and basking sharks. To be honest, this seems like a great way to combine aspects of an existing franchise into a new package, since we're usually all tired of slaughtering bandits out of the wasteland en masse while Claptrap is squealing in our ear.
We don't yet know how these concepts will be explored or implemented, but we do know when Little Tina's wild vision will come to fruition, and it's not that far off! The Borderlands formula seems like a powerful counter to classic dungeon crawling in a less apocalyptic wasteland, so get ready to put on your wizard's robe and hat to explore the concepts of marauders and gunslingers in a brand new skin. The combo looks pretty enticing as the fantasy monsters and gameplay fit pretty well with the Borderlands theme.
