Real Madrid's Thibault Courtois urges EA to raise his Fifa rating by 5 points
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibault Courtois has approached EA SPORTS about his FIFA 23 card and wants a significant boost in ratings.
Strikers and midfielders often have more stars in their skill ratings than defenders or, especially, goalkeepers. That's why it's not uncommon for highly ranked defensemen to have low stars in such categories.
Courtois is one of the most valuable goalkeepers in FIFA 22 with an overall rating of 89 and he feels it's time for the EA SPORTS analytics team to give him more credit for his performance.
Thibault currently has a one-star skill rating and a 3/5 rating for his weak foot, but he wants to see virtual skills improve in the future. The next major adaptation will of course be FIFA 23.
Courtois wants to update FIFA 23 card
Thibault Courtois wants updates to his FIFA 2022 stats, but not for defense.
To prove that his boots are worth five-star feints, the Madrid goalkeeper sent a video of himself during team practice straight to the studio, where he demonstrates his abilities.
The clip shows him making a rainbow pass over himself before catching the ball and throwing it to a nearby teammate.
While not the most over the top gimmick, it should still be better than the low one-star rating it currently has.
The player wants to get a little more out of it by demanding more of his stats.
He already has the highest rating on defensive stats that matter, but Courtois wants the devs to at least consider buffing his hit.
It should be noted that the basic Rainbow Flick, which he demonstrated would require at least a 4-star skill rating for someone to do it in the simulator. Advanced Rainbow Flick, however, needs a 5 star rating.
While it wasn't the five-star iteration Courtois is trying to squeeze out of EA, the Madrid star knows his stuff to improve his rating for FIFA 23.
