T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown Brief - Groups
This grand event gave each team many opportunities to prove themselves. The first event of the NA Ignition Series not only included a group stage, but the teams that made it through made it to the double elimination playoffs.
Starting from the beginning of the event, the teams were divided into four groups. Right out of the gate, Tyler "Ninja" Blevins and his team were eliminated from Group C after losing three cards in a row. It should also be noted that Cloud9 fell into Group A after losing to relative newcomers "Together We Are Terrific" and "Prospects".
The other groups played out as expected and the big organizations made the playoffs. Teams SoloMid, Sentinels and T1 were the only teams to travel through groups without dealing a single card.
Playoffs
Moving into the playoffs, TSM continued their impressive run by winning three straight matches in the upper bracket. Together with Together We Are Terrific, FaZe Clan and T1, they made it to the Grand Final on the third day of the competition.
Ultimately, the fight was between TSM and T1 in the Grand Finals and it ended quickly. TSM easily rolled out T1 without dropping the map.
