Tchia - Tropical Adventure Video from PlayStation Showcase 2021
Funded by Kowloon Nights, Studio Awaceb has unveiled the first major look at Bye, her upcoming open world island adventure, within presentations Sony PlayStation Showcase Thursday. The game has a release date of 2022 and is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and 5.
In Chia's debut trailer it gives the impression that you will be able to climb, dive, sail a boat and use a glider, exploring peace. On top of that, you will be able to use the magical powers of the protagonist Chia to transfer your soul into the bodies of animals and take control of them.
The trailer starts with two characters sitting next to each other while one of them plays the ukulele and sings a peaceful song. The next thing we see, Chia is chasing a seagull with glowing green eyes; it is then suddenly transferred into the bird's body and flies away. Soon footage shows the character jumping from animal to animal.
In reality, Tchia was one of ten games signed to the Kowloon Night investment fund, and was previously known as "Project Caillou". The trailer stated that the game was inspired by New Caledonia, a French territory made up of dozens of tiny islands in the South Pacific, which also houses the developer's studio.
