Far Cry 6 Story Trailer Debuted at Gamescom 2021 Live
The new trailer for Far Cry 6 premiered during the Gamescom live presentation and took us into the story of Ubisoft's next game.
Geoff Keighley previously announced that a world premiere trailer for Far Cry 6 would appear on Opening Night Live before revealing details of the game's story.
The story trailer featured Anton Castillo in an interview detailing his past and his relationship with Diego. He reveals that Castillo's plan revolves around a cancer cure that can only be made on the Yara Islands. The trailer for the story also shows several scenes between Dani and Castillo, which show that El Presidente considers them both "lions".
We've already seen a bit of Far Cry 6's history in previous trailers for the game. You play as Dani Rojas, Yaran's ex-soldier who returns home and is forced to become a guerrilla in order to free Yaran from the clutches of El Presidente. The main villain in this story is Anton Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito, who is trying to control his son Diego and turn him into a dictator like himself.
The last time we watched Far Cry 6, we saw a cutscene where Dani Rojas and other Yaran civilians were trying to escape the island in a boat before they were discovered by Anton Castillo. These footage showed that Diego wants to run away from his father and may not be the villain that his evil father wants him to be.
