Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Announced As PS5 Launch Title
Sony has announced the next installment in its Spider-Man series, starring Miles Morales.
The first installment received critical acclaim as the title allowed players to take control of Peter Parker in an open-world New York City.
Miles Morales has been a popular character in the Marvel mythos for some time as an alternate Spider-Man. The character debuted on the big screen in a cartoon in 2018.
The new trailer, which debuted as part of the Sony PlayStation 5, reveals the events and shows Morales riding around New York in winter, indicating that time has passed since the first and this game.
Peter Parker is missing from the trailer, so it will be interesting to see if players get control of him in any capacity in this sequel.
While the trailer didn't really stand out in terms of gameplay, we got to see some new weather and what appears to be a fast-paced day-night cycle, as well as some of Miles' abilities in combat.
The first game, released in 2018 and developed by Insomniac Games, had certain sections where they played as Miles Morales but never as Spider-Man. The title ended on a cliffhanger with the sequel's titular character revealing his powers to Peter Parker.
Spider-Man has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide since its release, including both digital and physical copies, which will leave fans excited for the Holiday 2020 sequel.
