Sony commits to Destiny players after $3,6 billion buyout of Bungie
Sony Interactive Entertainment has bought Destiny 2 developer Bungie for $3,6 billion.
2022 has been a huge year for major gaming acquisitions, starting with Microsoft's buyout of Activision Blizzard.
And now it's Sony's turn.
On January 31, news broke that Sony would buy Bungie, the developer of Destiny and Destiny 2, for $3,6 billion, as reported. gamesindustry.biz и Jason Schreier.

Sony and PlayStation have just made a massive acquisition.
"We've had a strong partnership with Bungie since the inception of the Destiny franchise, and I couldn't be more thrilled to officially welcome the studio to the PlayStation family," said Sony CEO Jim Ryan.
But what does this exciting new partnership mean for players?
Xbox gamers don't have to worry about losing their ability to play. According to the gamesindustry.biz report, Bungie will retain its right and ability to "self-publish and reach out to players wherever they choose to play."
