Saints Row: The Third Remastered Free On Epic To Celebrate Game Reboot
Playing the best Saints Row game is probably the best way to celebrate the upcoming Saints Row Reboot.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered is free on the Epic Games Store right now, along with Yooka-Laylee and Void Bastards. This is all because Saints Row received a reboot announcement at Gamescom yesterday. Saints Row: The Third is an additional giveaway from Epic to celebrate the game's upcoming revamp, which will coincidentally be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC.
More on that later, but first let's talk about Saints Row: The Third. It's probably the best game in the series with a wacky and childish sense of humor that might seem a little dated today, but there really isn't another game that gives you HDR support, allowing you to kill cops with a dildo.
Originally released in 2011, Remastered Third brings improved lighting, textures, updated assets, 4K support (for platforms that can handle it), an improved Steelport that feels more alive than ever, and all previously released DLC.
It's a trip and well worth it if you've never been on it before. For zero rubles, you can pick up the game from the Epic Games Store digital platform right now and until September 2.
And now about Saints Row reboot, which was just announced during yesterday's Gamescom 2021 celebration. The new game is a return to Saints Row form - there wasn't much shown in the trailer, though there was certainly a lot of multiple weapons, crime, and general mayhem. The story takes place in a Southwestern California counterpart and you create a criminal enterprise by driving out other gangs to gain power.
The game is more like Saints Row 1+2 than Saints Row 3, which still features "ragdoll insurance cheat mini-games, magnetic wrecking ball helicopters, and monster trucks that wreck parked cars." We will assume that the reboot will not deprive us of that share of hooliganism that we are familiar with from previous releases ..
