Riot is definitely ramping up champion releases in the second half of Season 10. Мы met Lilly и Yone in just a few weeks , and it looks like the hits don't stop with the release of Samira in update 10.19 .
Noxian Riflemen are unable to shoot long distances. In fact, she is the opposite - she likes to be in the heat of battle. Frantically switching between sword and machine gun, Samira elegantly destroys her opponents with a hail of blades and bullets.
Not sure where to start with Samira? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Here are all the builds, runes, tips and tricks you need to know about the new League shooter so you can stay ahead of the competition as Season 10 draws to a close.
Samira's abilities
Samira's set is ambiguous but one thing is for sure, he is strong. It includes heavy damage at close range and can also neutralize the return fire of your enemies.
With a new mechanic that allows her to get multiple game-changing ultimates in a single fight, you'll want to know exactly how Samira's abilities interact with each other so you can style your opponents every time.
Passive: Reckless Impulse
Samira's passive ability includes a new combo ability in League of Legends. She can create combos by landing unique hits from the previous hit - this means attacking different targets or alternating between abilities and basic attacks.
Each unique attack increases her style, giving her additional movement speed. At level S, she can use her ult. It rewards Samira for diving and rotating enemies to try and charge up her ultimate, and even gives her the ability to build multiple of them in combat.
Her passive also includes bonus damage when Samira is in melee and that she can dash towards enemies that are immobilized (stunned, trapped, etc.) and pause them for another half a second. Her passive can consist of three abilities in one.
Q: Outrageous
Now that we've got that out of the way, Samira's Q is a lot easier. This is her primary tool for clearing hit and swing, but it changes depending on whether Samira is in melee range from her target or not.
If she is at a distance, she will fire her pistol, dealing damage to the first enemy hit. If she is in melee, she will stab with her sword with a cone. This ability can critically strike for extra damage, and if she casts it during E, she can hit multiple enemies. It has a very short cooldown, so be prepared to spam it in fights to try and boost your passive.
W: Blade Sweep
Samira's W is essentially Yasuo's 360-degree wind wall. She slashes around her, dealing damage to enemies twice and destroying any enemy missiles. This can be the key to surviving initial attacks, when you're rushing into battle, or when you're on the run.
It has a long cooldown, so you'll want to save it in case of serious danger. Once Blade Sweep is disabled, it will be the signal for the enemies to attack you, so be careful.
E: Furious Rush
Samira's E is her main gap. With this ability, she can tear through enemies or allies, dealing damage to any enemy she passes through and gaining attack speed. It also refreshes on champion kills, so you can blast through enemies over and over again.
Depending on how you want to trade, you can use this to both defeat enemies and run away from them. It's better if you can just walk up and make the trade without using the E, saving it for a quick exit or a stylish flash follow.
R: Inferno
R Samira is a nightmare. It's not limited by cooldown, but rather by Samira's style rating. Once she reaches S rank, she can use her ultimate, shooting at all enemies around her, dealing tons of damage and applying lifesteal.
This is the ultimate teamfight ender. Not only can it be activated multiple times, but it can quickly stack Conqueror, deal a critical hit if you lower your critical build, and keep Samira alive in a pinch. If you want to channel your inner Dante from Devil May Cry, you definitely can.
Best build for Samira
The general build path for Samira is the same as for other lone shooters. Two stats are very beneficial to her - cooldown reduction and critical strike chance. It does The Essence Reaver is an indispensable helper - at least until the new item system appears.
From there Infinity Edge is good for an item's second power spike, but your build can kind of deviate from there. You can increase your critical strike chance with items such as Phantom Dancer and Runaan's Hurricane or you can deviate towards lifesteal in Death's Dance and Bloodthirster.
If you go down the path of lifesteal, you can become very survivable in the late game - at least in the sense that you will constantly regenerate health during combat. These items, combined with runes like Legend: Bloodline, give her an insane amount of resilience.
Best runes for Samira
Unsurprisingly, Samira's best runes fall under two trees - Accuracy and Dominance. As for Keystone, you can't go wrong with conqueror. With a combination of melee and ranged attacks, she can build up the Conqueror effect pretty quickly.
It also benefits her to go with little risk in her runes. Things like Legend:
However, if you want to deal explosive damage to your opponent,
If you prefer only pure, lip damage,
How to play Samira
Samira is probably the most flexible shooter Riot has released, with the possible exception of Lucian. She can be played top, middle, and bottom lane depending on the situation. However, her form is better suited for a solo lane, increasing damage in melee duels.
In the laning phase, you need to clear the waves first from a distance to try and keep your health bar intact. However, if you need to push through the wave, get into melee range to use the multi-target Q strike and also get some extra damage from melee attacks.
It's hard to say that Champion Form isn't without flaws, but with Samira, her set is not only friendly to new players, but will become more powerful as she gets mastered. This is especially evident when looking at her lane trading patterns.
Starting at level three, it is unlikely that any of the champions will defeat Samira in a direct duel. If you try to get away from Samira, the bonus movement speed from her passive will keep her in check. Her Q is on cooldown and can be spammed. Plus, if she hits six, she'll have a 100-0 combo that can beat most champions.
In teamfights, if Samira can avoid the enemy, she will terrorize the soft carries. Her MO is to get in, do the work, and leave. Not just a kill or two, but also to destroy the enemy entirely, while remaining on the verge of health. Low health gives her the most benefit from Last Stand, but you also have to be mindful of grievous wounds.
Also, you can't forget your E>Q combo. If you cast Q by rushing into the fight with your E, this is a sure way to build up a passive very quickly to activate your ult. Take advantage of this little Yasuo-style interaction to destroy your enemies.
