It is reported that the release of GTA 6 in 2025 may be in jeopardy due to new development problems. According to Kotaku, Rockstar Games fears the game could miss its planned 2025 release due to production difficulties and the developers' struggle to return to the office in February. Sources familiar with the development of GTA 6 claim that its development has started to lag, and this may lead to a delay in the game's release. While Rockstar still aims to release the game in early 2025, the exact release date remains uncertain.
Kotaku's Zach Zwiesen has reported that it's becoming increasingly likely that GTA 6 may not release until late 2025 due to production issues. According to him, the sequel may even be delayed until 2026. This comes after early reports of GTA 6 finishing development and a possible February 2025 release. However, despite Rockstar's hopes of releasing the game as soon as possible, it may still be delayed.
Last month, Bloomberg reported that Rockstar was recalling all remote employees to the office to complete production of GTA 6. This sparked protests from employees, and they were supported by the union. GTA 6's release delay, if it occurs, will first affect the console version of the game, and the PC port will likely not appear immediately after the console version's release.
