New jungle and mid laners teased ahead of League of Legends season 13 launch
Besides Milio and Naaphyri, two announced League of Legends champions for Season 13, Riot revealed that two more heroes are on the way: jungle and mid. These are the early days of 2023 in LoL, but players can expect a similar release schedule for fresh content from previous years.
New champions keep coming to League of Legends. With over 160 representatives now available in the game, there are many options to choose from. But in Season 13, players can expect four more new champions to be added.
We already know about support Milio и Darkin Assassin NaaphyriNot only that, Riot has also confirmed two new champions coming in Season 13, namely jungle and mid.
“Looking beyond, we have a hungry jungler and an artistic mid laner looming in the distance,” champion Lexi “Lexical” Gao, lead designer, said at the start of the season. "It's too early to talk about them at the moment, but stay tuned for future teasers."
The pace in that regard, from four to six championship releases plus a few mid-range reworks and updates, is similar to the pace Riot has been handling since about Season 10.
Four new champions have been confirmed for 2023 in League of Legends.
Players can expect the same in Season 13, Gao said, but that won't always be the case with new content fluctuating based on team resources and niches to fill.
"I think we traditionally didn't say we wanted to have a certain pace," she said. “It's basically if the team has a good opportunity to tackle, as well as our current team size.
“In general, knowing the schedule, I think it will be simple compared to the last two or three years, I don't think that's by design. They just look alike."
In terms of mid-range updates, Riot is pushing Jax's overhaul in LoL 13.1 update, and Neeko will soon follow. Rell and Yuumi's makeovers are also under investigation.
