Red Dead Redemption Remastered rumored to be in development
Rockstar may be working on a remaster of the first Red Dead Redemption game if a recent leak is correct.
One of Rockstar's big news in late 2021 was the confirmation of the Grand Theft Auto Remastered trilogy. But perhaps another popular brainchild of the company will be reviewed: Red Dead Redemption.
Prior to the release of RDR2 in 2018, the previous game in the 2010 Red Dead Redemption series received the same acclaim when it was released. Now, if the recent leak is correct, Rockstar may also be working on a remastered edition for it.
Red Dead Redemption Remastered Rumors
The leak that Red Dead Redemption Remastered is in development comes from Chris Liberty of Rockstar Mag , the same person who revealed that GTA 6 is currently in "development".
In a fan chat on October 24, Chris was asked about a possible remaster of the first Red Dead Redemption game and said it could be very similar to the upcoming GTA trilogy.
This means that there would be no simple increase in screen resolution. Instead, it will be a complete graphical remaster with all new features.
While that sounds amazing to Red Dead fans, Chris added that he doesn't think it's coming out anytime soon.
The point of interest starts at 3:00 .
We could see Red Dead Redemption Remastered coming to PC as well as Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5. The leak didn't specify which platforms it might arrive on, but we can assume it will be the same as the GTA Remastered Trilogy.
Again, since this is a leak, none of this information can be confirmed until Rockstar says something themselves. From what Chris has been saying, we may not see any news for a while, depending on how early the development of the game is.
From the looks of it, we should have plenty of time to replay the original and even play through Red Dead Redemption 2 once more before this rumored remaster of the first game finally sees the light of day.
