PGL Major Stockholm 2021: last matches of the Challengers stage

On October 29, the Challengers stage of the main tournament of the year in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive discipline ended. Eight teams out of 16 left the tournament, while the other eight advanced to the main stage of the championship. On the last day of the Challengers stage, viewers got tense and intriguing matches that were interesting to watch. Who turned out to be the best? Who made it to the main stage? Which team was able to surprise? These questions are of interest to users of the site gg.bet.

List of matches

1. "Heroic" - "Movistar Riders".

Predictable match, but this does not mean a low level of play. Movistar Riders was an obvious outsider, because the club had never performed at a high level. The Spanish team is an unstable tier-2 team that rarely shows high results even in second-tier tournaments. Sometimes the club jumps above its head, and the statistics of 2-2 is already an incredible result for the Spaniards. At the same time, Heroic is a world-class team that has already managed to win several major international tournaments in the online CSGO era. "Heroic" has consistently shown a high level of play, but this tournament is starting to have problems. Uncertainty during the game can be explained by the LAN format, which puts pressure on teams that have little experience in offline play. This affects all teams, but it is Heroic that suffers the most, because all their achievements were obtained online. After the start of the match, it became clear that the audience was waiting for a very beautiful, but predictable game. Heroic dominated the entire first map and finished it 16-7. And on the second map there was a real struggle. Initially, Heroic took the initiative, but let go of the game in the second half. But they managed to put the squeeze on, and they snatched the second map out of the opponent's clutches with a score of 16-14. Final score: 2-0 in favor of Heroic. As a result of this match, the Danish team goes to the main stage of the Major, and Movistar Riders leave the tournament with 2-3 statistics.

2. "MOUZ" - "BIG".

This match, on the contrary, was a clash of equal opponents. Both teams did not perform well in many matches, however, "MOUZ" was the nominal favorite. This club faced more difficult opponents than BIG, so they ended up in the basket 2-2. At the same time, "BIG" simply did not show a good enough game, which made it difficult for them to get into the main stage of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, and the team continues to play until the last day of the Challengers stage. After the start of the match, MOUZ immediately seized the advantage. However, something happened to the team on a 6-1 score, after which BIG took five rounds and destroyed their opponents in the second half, ending the map with a score of 16-10 in favor of the German team. On the second map, the struggle was tougher, but MOUZ turned out to be stronger and beat their opponent with a score of 16-12. And the third card became a benefit of "MOUZ". "BIG" tried to impose a fight, but it was unsuccessful. MOUZ won the last map 16-12. Final score: 2-1 in favor of MOUZ. Based on the results of this match, the winner advances to the main stage of the tournament, and the German team leaves the tournament.
