Update 15 Sons of the Forest: Comprehensive Review of Innovations

This is the last patch before the final release of the game. Endnight Games deserves gratitude for systematic updates Sounds of the forest. Patch 15 brings new features, numerous fixes, and some balance changes.

Welcome everyone!

This patch gives Kelvin three new commands: repairing buildings, sharpening defensive walls, and maintaining a base. If you ask him to maintain your base, he will fill all holders to capacity, complete all unfinished buildings, repair damage and improve established defensive walls.

New outfits and blueprints discoverable in the game have also been added. There is a new female cannibal type “Eliza”, armed to the hand, as well as many details in the various cannibal camps and villages on the map. The number of points of interest to explore has also been increased. Players can now build weapon racks and wood stands, as well as create small structures such as birdhouses or torches directly on trees.

A number of memory optimizations have been implemented to improve overall stability. A new visual style called “Found Footage” has been added, available in the graphics menu. The game also now supports FSR 2.0. Various other issues have also been fixed and improved, as listed below.

  • Cannibals will now eat dead deer.
  • More animal areas have been added to increase the island's coverage.
  • Torches, birdhouses, trophy heads, and weapon holders can now be attached directly to trees.
  • Reduce the terrain player's hill walking limit so you can no longer walk straight up steep mountains.
  • Bloody clocks are now always positioned vertically.
  • Increased the distance between the fog hemispheres to prevent them from bouncing.
  • Improved the appearance of the final saucepan animation.
  • Connection to multi-user servers has been accelerated.
  • The pause menu is now locked in dead camera mode.
  • Improved the albedo value of the wooden box.

  • Suppressed players' idle animation when the grapple bag is open to make it easier to interact with items on the bolt.

  • Increased Kelvin energy recovery during rest.

Rectification

  • Fixed some cannibal types (Frank, Henry, Igor) sometimes walking and attacking without a limb.
  • Fixed normal cannibal search parties sometimes going to where the foul people have seen the player.
  • Fixed rag dolls with corpses. the clash was still going on in dismembered parts.
  • Fixed the Heavy Cannibal getting back up after being shot in the head by a Status Shock Projectile.
  • Fixed some carried corpses not visually matching when picked up, and increased the stability of ragdolls when thrown by the player.
