New Wild Rift Champion Kassadin: Abilities, release date
Kassadin was announced as the first new champion as part of the Wild Rift 3.3 update cycle. Abyss Drifter is a hyper-scaled mid lane mage with an infamous League of Legends reputation on PC - here's what we know about his abilities and release date on mobile.
Originally revealed in the Wild Rift 3.3 patch preview, mid lane beast Kassadin is the first of many new champions coming to League mobile soon.
Since Samira and Sion are also in development, players will be given time to get used to the Void champion, known for quickly crossing the Rift, hyperscaling late game with no contest.
Here's what you need to know about Kassadin in Wild Rift, including his lore, an overview of his abilities, and exactly when he'll be coming to Patch 3.3.
Who is Kassadin in Wild Rift?
Kassadin began his story as an outcast - he made his way through the darkest corners of this world, leaving destruction in his wake. He knows his days are numbered. He was once a famous guide and adventurer, but then he gave up adventures and began to live peacefully with his family among the southern nomadic tribes - until one day his village was swallowed up by the Abyss. He vowed revenge and began collecting magical artifacts and forbidden knowledge for the coming fight. Kassadin eventually traveled to the wasteland of Icathia, determined to face any creature of the Abyss and seek out the self-proclaimed prophet named Malzahar.
Although many assume he has gone insane, Kassadin remains true to his goal: to fight evil, a task that few can accomplish.
Kassadin's abilities in Wild Rift
For those familiar with him in League of Legends, Kassadin's play style and abilities should come as no surprise. These are descriptions taken from his League of Legends descriptions and are likely to remain unchanged for his Wild Rift iteration.
If differences in ability are identified, the article will be updated.
Abyss STONE Kassadin takes less magic damage and can pass through units.
SPHERE OF THE VOID Kassadin fires a bolt of void energy at an enemy, dealing damage and interrupts the use of skills. In addition, excess energy creates a temporary shield around Kassadin that absorbs magic damage.
BLADE OF THE VOID Kassadin passively deals bonus magic damage on basic attacks. When activated, Kassadin's next basic attack deals a significant additional magic damage and restores mana.
RELEASE OF FORCE Kassadin drains energy from spells cast around him. When enough power is drained, Kassadin can use Force Burst, to deal damage and slow enemies in front of you.
STEP INTO THE ABYSS Kassadin teleports to the target location, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Subsequent Void Steps within a short time require more mana but deal more damage. |
Wild Rift patch 3.3 continues to fill the championship portfolio in the mobile MOBA with Kassadin at the top of the list.
